in my opinion whirlpool v2 is better since the shield you get from leviathan armor v1 is good enough, you also will keep regaining it during a fight + u can use ur v3 water body too as a shield on top of that, whirlpool just makes combos way easier to land and the v2 makes it last longer, makes them slower and gives defence debuff which leads to more dmg
