VERY informative video. I grew up in the County, and right now I am playing a dispatching simulation where I'm recreating the RSO Patrols (as I remember, anyway).
So, how was the K9 Team organized in the olden days? Did each contract town have their own K9 officer, or was there one per station - depending on size? Also, what radio callsign/car number would they use? I'm imagining the city callsign (i.e. "Tom" or "Lincoln,") and a number in the 200-300s? Also did the K9s work any particular shift(s) back in the day, or did it rotate?
Speaking of radio, I think it would be great to someday have at least the dispatch channels in the clear. This would really open more doors of transperency and the public would be more likely to have trust in local law enforcement. Nevertheless, this was educational.
