drove one for a month and loved the thing. would really like to get one of my own. extremely nice car and great fuel mileage. not the best looking car on the road but would highly recommend any one to get one. the interior is actually way bigger then you would think it is. very roomy
I saw this video and then bought one. I love the thing. Can't beat it for mileage and I have gotten as much as 80 MPG with it in the city using pure gasoline and not any with alcohol in it. That is the secret to getting way insane mileage.....ethanol free gas and hyper miling. Lot of space with tons of room for just about anything. A little slow and just so so on handling and rides pretty good. A lot quieter than what some think. It does what it does best......mileage! See the videos as to how to get better mileage with a hybrid on UA-cam.
Another great review Mike! To be honest, if I were to get a Prius, this would be the only generation and trim level I would get. Love the upgraded looks the 5 trim level provides. Those rims and LED lighting are awesome!
I rode in a 2014 TOYOTA PRIUS in Rhode Island and that thing would go. My aunt had just bought it and I told her to kick the accelerator and we took off down the interstate. They have alot of torque.
I have the same one. Very good car you can trust. I drove 180.000 km with it. The only problem is that it’s got much haters. Enough cargo space for a family with 2 children. The dashboard lights are a little oldscool.
I must bought one and I LOVE IT! Reminds me of a jet live the digital screen and double glove box and the shifter is just barely tap it it's my car till I die
Mike,I really appreciate this video I have a Prius sport and some of the things you show makes me wonder if I have some of those features and I loved your demo on the column. One thing I would like to mention is the Battery breather in the back seat behind the passenger side is something you do not want to block for long period of time it could damage the battery. For example a big person sitting on that side for a long trip might not be good idea! Thanks Mike so much I love your Videos!
Nope, the Prius has a little vent on the edge of the rear right seat. That little vent is the battery breather. If a passenger blocks it for a long period of time, the batteey will have no cooling and it will overheat.
I have this car. The one thing i don’t like is the old school green dashboard lights. It’s not the 90s anymore. For the rest it’s a great car you can trust. We use it as our family car.
Tha ms for the info I’m looking at a used 2015. I live in California and gas and registration is just to expensive. This will help me save money to get the hell out.
I just bought a 2015 Toyota Prius Five. I'm 70 years old. This is my first hybrid! I've been watching videos, trying to feel more comfortable with driving a hybrid. This video is very helpful! I do have one question. What are the bars on the electric battery gauge on the dashboard telling me?
I am literally going this weekend to look at this exact model. It's a white one with about 30k miles on it. It's going for 19k. Hopefully it doesn't turn out to be a lemon :)
i really like the 3 gen prius, we got a 2010 prius, (which is exact the same car, lol, hasent changed that much the 5 years its been out) we also got the parking asistant and stuff to (executive version which got everything this car got) we r gonna buy the 2017 prius prime when that comes out
I am so damn mad and sad that Toyota changed the shape from this model after this model I will never buy another Prius I can't stand the shape of the newer ones
@@Sozzi924 well mine is a 2012 prius ( same spec as this one) before my father had it as a business car. He drove 150.000 km with it and after 4 years i took it over from his company and we use it as our family’s car. Now i’m on 200.000. Still the same battery everything original. My dad and now me and my own family never had high costs. Just the yearly maintenance at the Toyota dealership. Every year we have a battery garanty certificate. Untill it’s 11 years old. But there are priusses like this one with 300.000 400.000 in the clock with the same battery. But it’a not expensive to replace if you are unlucky. Refurbished is €700 and a new one is €1650
I am not talking about just driving 5 mins and that's it. I am talking about driving till your gas runs out. You will find the average is often 50 mpg and below. Just because you drove down hill for 5 mins doesn't mean this car is a 80 mpg vehicle.
Hi everyone, I have a question: I'm about to buy a Gen3 (2015) here in Mexico ($9,100/68k miles) should I get this one or should I search directly for a Gen4 (2016)??
Hi Mike....Great videos thanks I cant figure out whats is the special equipment in a Prius Persona Series... I bet you do know...can you explain,,,, please
Great video! One question. How does this whole "Hybrid" system work? Does it charge itself? Does it switch from motor to battery by itself or do you do it or what?
it charges itself, if it needs more electricity it just starts the petrol engine and charges and stops when it thinks it got enough (the battery chargers really fast)
The Gaming Norwegian I was looking at a Prius 2012. I wanted to test drive it but the battery is dead. They ordered one from town and country but the thing is the car is only at 39,000 miles. Does that mean somethings wrong with the engine because the battery already went dead?
I just bought a 2013 with 33000 miles on it, after my mini cooper manual transmission decided to explode while i was doing 20mh on a 25 zone. ( i guesss it got so mad that i was driving so slow and it just had a massive stroke.) So i decided to use the brain finally and guess what I got a prius. U know its funny because the same teenagers that say they hate priuses end up buying one when they get older. But i have to admit the newer 4th gen designs are really ugly, specially from the back and specially rear quaretr it looks like an ugly couch . and feom the side it looks like it was cut right out of a giant cheese cintainer.thats why i got a 3rd gen.
I guess the people who don't know how to use a power seat are out of luck. Blind spots are never eliminated... we always need to double-check and make sure it is safe to move.
hi bro my question i m living in Pakistan so my country temperature its 35 to 50 calculus so this temperature working on car and ac performance traffic jam condition and city drive
Well most Prius can easily get 200-300k miles on the original battery. Only thing that actually goes wrong is the battery but you can always get one for it from the dealer even if it has to be in payments. $2000-3000k ain’t too bad, just avoid the 2010-2012 ones, the 2013-2015 are probably the most reliable cars on the road today. I have seen Chryslers 200 with less than 40k already having bad engines, etc.
Who else thinks Mike says " I am so fucking bored and would rather to drink beer stay single and sleep on the couch." whenever he is reviewing a car? He just has the completely unenthused voice when he talks. And his accent is weird. I dont mean to be disrespectful to anyone who has that accent but its so reluctant sounding.
