Hey Jamie, I was considering FUTSAL at Loughborough a few years back, had my trial there after 2 years at Huddersfield Town. When I went down they were only offering the FUTSAL with college degree related courses - Coaching etc. When I asked about doing an alternative study course, something like physiotherapy they told me no or if I did take it I'd have to spend an extra large sum of cash to sign onto both.
Hi Will, hope you’re well. As a bit of context, there is an IFA programme that runs alongside/in partnership with Loughborough Futsal and I believe this also runs quite closely with Loughborough college. From the sounds of things this is who you were in contact with. I don’t have a vast level of knowledge regarding the specifics behind what the IFA programme entails, but in terms of how I got into Futsal there is trials at the beginning of the season (the same process for all AU sports at Loughborough University) which aren’t restricted to having taken a specific degree course. If you have any other questions/want to know a bit more then feel free to let me know either here or on socials eg IG. 👍
Hi mate, the process for getting into one of Loughborough's AU teams is to sign up for trials at the beginning of the academic year. During Freshers there will be the Sports Bazaar where you can sign up to these trials and speak to some of the current committee for each of the AU clubs. Also, most AU clubs will put a trials sign up link on their social media pages typically around this same time period. Hope this helps.
Hi, If you already have a confirmed place or have deferred, you can reserve your room from the end of May. From memory, the university normally email you to tell you when this reservation system is open for deferred students. All the best, Jamie
Futsal is underrated!
For sure! I would definitely recommend it!
