How to test a Maytag Lid Lock ; Testing and Replacement - Quick and Easy!!

I just got my replacement switch today and it does not work. Is there a way to bypass it so I can get it to spin the clothes and take them to the laundromat? I tested it like you said. It looks like in the locked position and I cannot get the lid to close.

Thank you so much for your excellent video… After all the trouble I had with my Maytag-centennial washer…. Your video was the biggest help… I was able to repair it on my own with a new locking mechanism and then doing the self test was extremely helpful thank you so much for your excellent video…

Great video sir,, I have a maytag just like the one in this video. It sometimes will just not have any power to it at all, no lights no nothing,, I will unplug it and wait 30 seconds and plug it back and still no power. I know by cord is good. After a few days of messing with it , I can plug it in and it will all of a sudden have power, but now it isn't coming back to life,, what could be my problem? Thanks

I replaced it and it still won't lock. Does that mean I have a bigger problem?
