New World PvP | No-Shield Sword & Hatchet | Off-Meta Builds | Part 1

No shield so I can stay in light weight and still use Attuned Leather Pants for a 650+ point stat line.
Stats shown in the video, but I have recently changed them to 250 STR 250 DEX 150 CON for even more burst DPS.
Using the Butcher artifact sword to make use of all the sword-only skills as it makes Whirling Blade a lot better, and a Hatchet with Keen Berserk as well as the Blooddrinker ring artifact to bait people with burst DPS + a lot of lifesteal.

Cheers! Other than Empowering Leap and Contagious Reverse Stab, I prioritize Health, Vigor, and Elemental Aversion, as well as running at least 30% of fire res on gems to make sure I don't melt too quickly.

What would be the point of not having the sheild?? You can still go light load and your losing a bunch of armour

The point is that you can only use a round shield + full light gear if you want to stay in light weight with a sword, or you have to use the Featherweight artifact armor for anything higher armor-wise or a kite shield. That's much less armor than running a maximized light weight range with 2 medium pieces in the mix, plus wearing the Attuned Leather Pants gives me 58 extra stat points, which I value way higher than anything on a round shield.
Having 650+ stat points allows for much better dps, better survivability and better stat perk combinations as long as you have high enough gear score, so stuff like the stat distribution shown in the video or 250 STR 250 DEX 150 CON, or even 300 STR 300 DEX 50 CON with a sword are only possible this way.

What's the point of giving up the shield? depriving yourself of control? Useless build against weak opponents.
