Thanks for this tutorial. I am fairly new to crocheting and this was very helpful. I made a small one and a large one without the extra embellishment and stacked them and then placed them on a small handbag I made for my niece. I used two tones of pink. She LOVES it! Thanks again for this wonderful video!
I made this flower it is very nice. Is there a reason you used a singe crochet instead of the chain one slip stitch chain one for round 2 of the pattern? In pattern (Miss next dc. Sl st in next dc. rep from* Ch 1.) etc
Does Diva Dan want them with the extra edging? And is there a preference to where the colors go? For instance, asked for; pinks, white and yellows. All whites on inside? Or can we alternate?
Here is the download page for the pattern: com.yarnspirations.pattern-pdfs.s3.amazonaws.com/Patons_Graceweb4_cr_flowerapplique.en_US.pdf One 50 gram ball makes about 15 in one color, so alternating inside with outside would make about 30 for 2 balls.
Hi Mikey, I keep getting four petals and it does not come as 'petaly' as yours...something like a square...I am using the kurtsy hook 4.5mm. I don't know if it's the hook size or the yarn. Thanks
If you don't have six petals then that's the problem. The yarn and hook size would have nothing to do with that. Just keep going on the first round until you have six petals.
As a beginner i found understanding the single crochet + double crochet a bit complicating , would of been nice to of seen them bits in slow motion a couple of times ..

Hi Minny, I copied this info from the newsletter for you. " Diva Dan's request is simple. He would love to have as many as possible smiley flowers using Orange, Pink, White and Yellow colours only. This pattern using Mikey's video is the flower pattern that Diva Dan would like our Friends to use. If you can 'dig it', that would be FAB and let's take it to the max! We are so getting into the 70's. Use any yarn you wish."
Hi Terri, The pattern calls for Paton's Grace yarn.. I don't have that kind of yarn, so wondered if I could use another type of yarn. I have some Baby Soft Steps yarn that I'd like to use up & wondered if I could use that.
sorry, should have pasted the whole paragraph. He said to use any yarn you wish., The yarn is sport weight. #3. I am using scraps, mostly Bernat sport. What do they say about big hands? ?? ;)
Is there a written pattern? I'd much rather have that for the flower :-)

Is there a preference on the yarn? Does he want them made with the type of yarn listed in the instructions or can another type of yarn be used?
