Excellent presentation and workmanship. It was further enhanced by creating a set. I know now what I will be making for Christmas presents this year. Thanks for sharing!
I love your work. I watch a lot of knife makers/forgers and have for many years and I enjoy yours the most. What would a set like this cost in US dollars?
Lindo e perfeito trabalho meu querido irmão!!!
Thank you my friend. In this video I didn't use any kind of powder on the steel, what appears in the video is ash because my forge is charcoal, so there is a lot of soot, which could be the white powder you refer to. But when you to fuse steel, you usually use a white powder called borax, which serves as a flux for steels. 👍👍👍
Beautiful metal shaping, you are a talented artist. Also, using recycled materials is good for the planet. I would strongly recommend that you polish the fork and spoon to remove any slag impurities if you wish to use them to eat with. The residue on the surfaces of the fork and spoon should not be ingested as they would in all likelihood contain noxious elements.
Thank you my friend. Yes, I agree with you, but when I tempered I used kitchen oil, and in the tempering I also used kitchen oil to burn them, so they are dark, but you can be sure that it doesn't hurt, because it's a vegetable oil.
A really wonderful set! I really like the opposing twist on the handle, you appear to be twisting them cold, but they were covered in powder, is that borax? Chris B.
Thank you my friend. It wasn't cold, my workshop is very open so sometimes, depending on the position, the light gets in the way of the red of the steel. It's not borax, it's coal dust, it's ash, because my forge is charcoal. 👍👍👍
Very nice cutlery, I have an old truck spring like that too, how long were those pieces you cut? I thought I saw 12 or 13 (centimeters or inches?) On the ruler But it was hard to see
I usually always use cherry red, but if you have any doubts when tempering, use a magnet, the ideal is when it starts to no longer stick to the magnet, test it before dipping it in the oil, as soon as it starts to come off the magnet it can diving that will have a good result. 👍👍👍
I want a spring steel tempered and hardened spoon, fork, and knife set! That’s actually freaking awesome.
Thank you so much my friend 👍👍👍
So glad that you showed the eating test.
I had to show it, I really felt like eating, so I decided to film and test it too.

awesome cutlery, well done, thanks for the video, but that steak was way over cooked! 😝
Thank you, my friend. Yes, I forgot it on the fire, so it overcooked. 👍👍👍
Yes new video
👍👍👍
Super my friend ,please make a korambut knife
Say my frieeend. I already made one, check it out in the gallery that is there 👍👍👍
Very nice cutlery, I have an old truck spring like that too, how long were those pieces you cut? I thought I saw 12 or 13 (centimeters or inches?) On the ruler But it was hard to see
Thank you my friend. So that's right, I cut 2 with 12 centimeters and 1 with 18 centimeters for the knife, because its handle is longer. 👍👍👍
Good work on the utensils, but you overcooked that steak.
Thank you my friend. Yes, I forgot them in the fire, then it was like this, but it was still good. 👍👍👍
I agree ... Way over cooked but good job very crafty
Did you use a foodsafe oil for quenching or what?
Yes, I used my own cooking oil to make this, soy oil.

What color do you temper at on coil springs

Belli, realizzati molto bene. La carne è troppo cotta
Grazie mille.
you're too cold when twisting
👍👍👍
