Climbing Hydrangea (Hydrangea anomola var. petiolaris)

- Climbing hydrangea is a wonderful vine for the shade garden. It is cloaked in May and June with fresh white flowers and holds onto the dried sterile flowers throughout the summer. This deciduous vine also has beautiful yellow fall color. It grows by clinging to a surface, so it does not require a trellis to climb, but does need a vertical surface, like a fence, wall or tree trunk to hang onto.

We are planting this in front of our hotel in DC and hope it's not too late in the season. Awesome video, thanks for the information.
I’m so glad you liked it! And I hope your climbing hydrangea thrives!! Thanks!
I have one in my garden and I cut it back and this year it's twice the size and it is going sideways.....I think it smells like honey ..very pleasant..I had no idea it was a climber. I wanted to propagate it to bring it further down the garden in a large pot but now I know more about it I suppose that's a bad idea especially as it doesn't bloom for years.
So glad the information was helpful!
