Nintendo GameCube Menu Music

- Recorded using a GameCube, an RCA female to 1/4 inch stereo plug and a Zoom H6. Initially tried to record from the television headphone jack, but that created some weird echoes.
The sequel (sped up 16X-ish): • Nintendo GameCube Menu...
Logo courtesy Nintendo. We do not claim to own this music.
Two things come to mind:
1. I was checking my data
2. My game disc was fucked up
Regardless this brings back so many memories
When You Said: 2. My Game Disc Was Fucked Up. That Reminds Me When My Wii U Fell Down The Stairs With The Game Disc In It Too
@@AutoTheThird how the hell do you drop your Wii U down the stairs
Toru the Red Fox well I had a bag and I on my stairs and my bag with my Wii U and near the edge of my steps (there’s a big square) and I kicked it on accident and fell down the stairs...

To this day a Nintendo GameCube has the best menu layout and background music of all time in my opinion.
When the Nintendo GameCube first released it truly was the coolest thing to me growing up. But since my parents didn't make a lot of money at the time my older brother and I had to wait until about a year or two later when a family member surprised us both with a package in the mail. It was a Nintendo GameCube Black Version complete with a collection of different games and a spare controller!
We had a house fire about a year later. Thankfully our parents and dog made it out alright. But man where my brother and I scared when we received the phone call over at my grandma's house! We cried all night.
The house wasn't exactly condemned but my parents found it better just to move on and get a new house. We took the things of our belongings that weren't too badly damaged which included our Nintendo GameCube. Here I am over a decade later now a grown adult. I will admit sometimes when I start up my Nintendo GameCube... it isn't our original one as that one unfortunately stopped working one day. The one I own today is the Silver version, but I still have the original memory cards and to this day I sometimes shed tears thinking of the happiest moments with that game console and how it got my brother and I threw that extremely tough time in our childhood...thank-you Nintendo, for giving my brother and I and everyone around the world such fun memories of happiness, joy and our ever growing passion and love of Gaming.
I will always love the Nintendo GameCube and to this day it is one of my most beloved video game consoles of all time. Nintendo, thanks for everything.
Damn, that’s sad. Glad you and your parents are still okay. While I didn’t grow up with the GameCube (I actually got it for my 13th birthday) it’s still a phenomenal console and I will always remember it.
Side note, what was your favourite GameCube game?
That story you told us made me shed tears and I'mmy still shedding tears about it. 😭
@@xHB2005x
That's neat you got it as a birthday gift. ^.^
As for being in my line of favorite game consoles it's easily in my top three. While GameCube is my second favorite I don't really think anything besides could come close to the Super Nintendo.
That game literally spawned the birth of my two favorite Nintendo IPS: F-Zero & StarFox. I still have that's console to this day and it works just fine! ( it helps to learn how to properly clean them as well to help expand the livelihood )
But regardless the GameCube still holds a very close place in my heart. A great console indeed.

I have the same story with my Wii. Nintendo consoles made me happy when I felt down. When I feel to sad. I just boot up my Wii and play some games. (Even the GameCube games) I feel happier. I don't know why but their games just cheer me up. I think the same for a lot of u too
Listening to this takes me back to 2003 when I was just a little bab, nostalgia hits hard 😊
Me too. I remember getting it for Christmas in 2003 and so many childhood memories came from it. Good times.
Same here,i still have mine, but the laser to read the discs is busted...i really wanted to play Sonic Heroes again
I didn’t exist in 2003, and got a Gamecube in 2014, yet this is still super nostalgic:
i just noticed the bit that says Gamecube is the same font as the Gameboy Advance logo
Kind of
Yep. that is because the original Gameboy Advance came out in June 11, 2001 and the GameCube came the same year only 5 months after the gba came lunch and that is why they use same font letters.
HOLY SHIT
The GBA also has the same D-pad as the GameCube Controller
Both consoles' original color is purple. they were meant to go along since the beginning.
Even as a kid I I wasn’t scared I knew good ambient music I sometimes fell asleep to it when I got done playing games on it, it was like a safe space for me I had a troubled childhood so I turned to music and video games to help
Kind of crazy how just some bubbly synths in an idle menu can make a kid feel like they’re are in a safe place, but I never felt any less than right at home
I will never forget these feelings
I can see a bunch of people falling asleep to this kind of music
From 2003, to 2019.
This still sounds as good as it always has.

That'd be awesome.

God there's just too much SOUL in this, the gamecube the era the memories GIB THEM BACK
The music for GameCube's Home Menu is actually from Famicom Disk System, but it's slightly edited and heavily slowed down.

I use this music to reflect back to my memories
And yet I still own a gamecube.

Most relaxing menu music ever. Even more than the PS4 in today’s standards.
Ehh. I don't like the PS4 ambiance, so I stuck with the PS2 wallpaper.
*sigh* the days when Memory Card icons were once animated. Do you miss that? I miss that.
And if you look at PS2's icons they're animated 3D models.
@@pikabluebear9941 That only applies to a certain set of games. With PSX all the gifs were animated; it was like DeviantArt before DeviantArt.
I sure do. I sure do. But at least a modern USB can replicate memory cards, but it's not the same mate.
I never had a GameCube in my life, due to being born 1 year after the Wii. But somehow, this sounds really nostalgic. Maybe I had a GameCube in my past life. Or maybe my dad just had a GameCube when I was just a baby and he played it in front of me. When you're thinking about the past, play this. It really gives off that timeless vibe.
I had a GameCube and I still have this one
This is actually depressing for me to hear.
It makes me want to return back to the simpler times of the decade 2000s
I discovered the gamecube around 2011 when I was 11, and I've never saw one in person, something that is rly wierd, since Nintendo used to sell this console in my country, DS, Wii, Wii U they didn't sew and even tho I saw then and even had one, till this day I want a GC, just becuse it looks so cool and brings me happy memories of watching videos about it on YT
I still have my childhood GameCube, I even continue to play on it to this day.
Edit: The reason I still use it to play my GC games is cause my Wii will refuse to boot GC games but is able to read them.
The good ol days of booting up Sonic Adventure DX + 2 Battle, TTYD, Double Dash, and Sonic Heroes after coming home from elementary school...
Wow. Brings back memories I never knew I had... it’s a completely different world back then.
So many memories of me playing Super Mario Sunshine!
This music should be on the GameCube Nintendo Switch Online service
@Anthony Martinez I know, I’m just saying if there would be a GameCube Nintendo Switch Online
The menu always scared me as a kid
This has aged like fine wine.
It feels like yesterday when I first got the Gamecube for my birthday. I've spent so much time playing Sonic Adventure DX, Sonic Adventure 2 Battle, Super Mario Sunshine, Mario Kart Double Dash, Digimon Rumble Arena 2, Mario Superstar Baseball, Donkey Kong Jungle Beat, Super Smash Brothers Melee, and The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker on there. How I wish I could go back to being a kid again, playing the Gamecube along with my Playstation 2.
The nostalgia is running through my body man
*Boots up Gamecube*
*The logo comes up with the bootup animation skipped*
"Oh shit."
True fear
@@OldTastyHat398 There was nothing more fucked then starting up the Gamecube and it cuts straight to the logo. Although more anxiety filling was having a disc in, but the cube's creation begins to shake weird while it goes on.
I didn’t exist when the GameCube first launched, but I got one in 2014-15ish. This menu theme is very nostalgic, even to someone like me who hasn’t had one since launch.
eerie yet relaxing at the same time
There is just some kind of magic that the 6th gen had that was lost somewhere between 7th and 8th gen. I get that with the wii and xbox 360 and all but the new consoles. nothin' they just kinda feel like boxes now. I always felt like the 6th gen was the peak of videogames in terms of discovery, the leap between the n64 and this was astounding and that still showed with the 7th gen as xbox and playstation made a jump to HD while taking time to refine and develop what games could be giving us things like bioshock infinite, halo 3, and reach, and even 4 along with games on the wii like galaxy which were just pure fun despite the lack of HD. I feel like that was lost in the PS4 and Xbox One, a bit less so in the switch and wii u but still, there is something that is missing. Say what you will but early 2000s to 2014 were some of my favorite years for games
I couldn’t agree more. I thought this myself, just couldn’t put my finger on what it was or how to word it but you summed it up perfectly
The Xbox 360 feels the same as the generation after it when the Kinect firmware came out
I remember listening to this when I was like 4 or 5 years old and one day all of a sudden it was like I was seeing an alternate universe in which my dad was yelling at some random people in a house and my point of view was from a corner in the ceiling. It was quite random, yes, but I still remember it and it was weird.
This music was heard on the Nintendo Consumer Service phone line waiting music and background with the off voice, 15 years ago... Soothing and relaxing music...
For some reason, this makes me feel so relaxed yet emotional from the nostalgic feeling of popping in an amazing game to play.

It was my first and most beloved console, I still have my GameCube to this day! (It doesn’t read disc anymore sadly) but I play the GameCube games that I have on my Wii, and it’s basically the same, with the advantage that I have the component cable for the Wii
can you make a louder version of this? its really quiet and when i play roblox i almost dont hear the song

soo soothing
I don't know why is this theme menu music making me go out of tears
Who remembers Rayman 3?

It gives me this warm feeling of nostalgia yet this ominous mysterious feeling of ambience, I think all gen 6 consoles achieved this type of feeling which I adore

Thank you for a longer version that sounds right. The ones that use Dolphin just don’t sound right to me. The thump sounds just don’t seem to be there to me on Dolphin. I wish there was a really long version so I might record that someday.
I believe it's because this gamecube has a later version of the BIOS with an improved menu music. Whatever menu you and I are using has the original version of the music
@@reidmartin6209 yeah. I'm not sure. I just notice every time I use Dolphin or the Wii/Wii U it sounds weird. My GameCube sounds like this. I do have a later production model GameCube though so I'm not sure if it's the BIOS or bad sound emulation.

some years ago my dad was somewhat fixing a gamecube, i was like 8 years old and sometimes the menu would pop up in the tv, i was sometimes scared of how this appeared and not the game it was testing. it was somewhat relaxing tho and chilled me out. to this day, i think that gamecube, some controllers and the game is still somewhere in my house, lost to time and probably not functioning. pac world 2 is the game and i havent played it since.
I just had this strange dream...i dreamed that SMT Nocturne, Persona 3 FES and Devil Summoner: Raidou Kuzunoha vs. The Souless Army were on the gamecube...Dreaming that made me wish that was true
