Someone asked why Lili had to die so young. But she knew all along that she was not going to live very long. From age 16, she dedicated herself to becoming a professional composer and winning the Prix de Rome. And so she did, composing as much as she could in the little time she had.
This is a dumb question asked in layman's spirit, but: How do you arrive at that conclusion? What are you "seeing" or "recognising" in this piece of music to definitively conclude that it demonstrates such mastery (not the word you used, but in essence...) in the qualities you've mentioned? I just hear nice music so far as my understanding allows.

According to google tranlate this is the translation (take with a huge grain of salt): Reflections Under the water of the rising dream My soul is afraid. And the moon shines in my heart immersed in the sources of dreams! Under the dull boredom of the reeds. Only the deep reflection of the things of lilies, palms and roses still weep at the bottom of the waters. The flowers effeullent one by one, on the reflection of the firmament. For ashes eternally under the water of the dream and in the moon
If there’s any composer who I feel could cross over into mass success with the gamer crowd, I have a feeling it’s Boulanger. Kinda wild how well her compositions like this one pair up with Dark Souls
Romance is pleasant to listen to performed by a girl. I personally wanted to sing this romance, and I hope that it will be released in my performance. I'm a pianist, but I also sing. If possible, you can watch my videos and comment on them :)

Memento mori.
That’s sad 😔
So much beauty conveyed in only two and a half minutes. Such an amazing composer. If only she'd lived longer...
The beauty of this music is unusual, it takes my breath away
You can't help but get chills
Such distinctive writing, so much personality... beautiful. Thanks for posting!
Yes, her voice is really her own....

Strange. What a mind. Total melodic and harmonic control...

"The flowers *effeullent* one by one" LMAO
She composed some outstanding songs… such a pity she died so early :(
She was 18. Wow.
Beautiful!

Why do many musical geniuses die so young?
Diseases
Jesus Christ, Lili, why did you die so young?
Crohn's Disease. Its the inflammation of the digestive tract. Very unfortunate and sad indeed.

Magnifique oeuvre.

Are you discussing cheese (fromage) or pity (dommage)?

Love the piece, hate the singer. Nasal, not true mezzo. This song deserves much better recordings.
Agreed, I didn’t even know it was supposed to be a mezzo singing until I read the description. Shame. But at the least the music still comes through.
Pianist imo also doesn't accompany very well. I feel he/she doesn't give enough time allthough it's very beautiful playing
I was surprised at pianissimo at 2:05 I think a conductor wouldn't have hurt.
Magnifique !
so beautiful
