I wish people were more open-minded, or at least more respectful, of those with reborn dolls, stuffed animals, those who engage in ageplay, otherkin, etc. Who are they to judge how someone chooses to enjoy themselves as long as they aren’t harming or killing anyone? It’s everyone’s right to do things like that. Some people, whether for biological or situational reasons, can’t have real children, and the reborns can help with that. Some people just choose to play with them and love them, care for them, name them, take them out, raise them, etc. I once read about some people that raised a doll as their son! I am Autistic, and I love stuffed animals and am always taking them out with me. I name them and they are my pets and my friends! I would love a real dog, but I can’t have one at the moment, so I take care of and love my plushies instead, even walking them on the lead. The amount of ignorant idiots I get taking the mick is just disheartening and bothers me. Also, it may seem like a nice thing to say “I thought it was real”, but: A) They are real to me. B) I’ve heard that hundreds of times before. My current companion is Midnight the wolf. He is next to me… It’s the same with age-play (agekin and the whole DDLG thing, look it up, but it can be kinky and sexual). It’s not harming anyone, let them be. For some people, it might be due to trauma, for others, it might just be a choice. A similar thing is when people take their dogs out in prams/buggies (strollers). I don’t approve of babying and mothering dogs like children (this is bad for their mental health), but sometimes, there is a good reason for this. Some dogs have physical disabilities, arthritis or other conditions that make it hard/painful for them to walk, but they still enjoy going out. Not everyone can afford to have those wheel things put on their dogs, and some dogs might actually like their buggy/pram/stroller and be really comfortable in it, especially if it has a familiar scent…
