To anyone following. Before you try and pry apart your ICV, DO NOT do what he does. You will break it. The proper way to take apart your ICV is to first remove the gold pin that you see in the hole of that lip that he pries. After its been removes, the valse should ROTATE first, then pull apart, not pry upwards. There are licking tabs that will break, splitting the sides of your ICV
This works like a charm! I had this issue and never fixed it lol I knew it was the ICV though but hey whatever as long as it started for me it was a commuter car for me so not a big deal. The new owner fixed it ASAP he bought it for his daughter. I informed him and before I can even finish we both said ICV LOL
The ICV on the M42 is under the intake manifold, early m42 has access easily ,but on 995+ models u need to take out the manifold to get access to the ICV and it looks different than this one.
Hi there i know this video old but my revs drop when i depress clutch , it drops then pics back up, sometimes when coming to a stop it will also rev slightly higher and get stuck there to you touch throttle, had the issue on and of for years never found the solution, its the m43 engine pretty much same as this just 2001 model. Any ideas?
my m44 engine never starts first crank on cold start!...but if i turn ignition off then crank again it will start straight away!..could this be a icv issue! or maybe a mass air flow issue!...i cleaned the MAF sensor but still same issue..so maybe its not the MAF!...cheers!
Hi, I have my Bmw e36 316i 1995 Model with Twin Carburetor, Modified a lot. Every morning when start it so hard, you have to step the accelerator push down many times, then when it started you have to push the accelerator when the speedometer goes down, so the engine won't stop, but when you have run the car in a mile or when the engine is hot from running, then when you start it again, it start directly. Any advice guys?
the icv has nothing to do with the cold start. theres a coolent temperature sensor on the cylinder head below the intake thats responsible for cold start issues
