Such a good video , I watched it several times . Besides that its great sailing I really enjoy that it is without any music , just the original soundtrack :)
Great inspiration! I did the same route several times with a much bigger ship that I had to sell due to 'circumstances'. Now I am almost back again. Seeing this makes my heart glow again. Everything is possible! Seaworthyness is a state of mind and matter, not a matter of size... Thanks for posting!
Great movie, nice sailing. Who needs the the disturbing music and all the senceless talking? The sound of wind and waves is enough, that's the ocean's own music, Thanks a lot.
Duim+abbonnement!! Groetjes, Henk, Elim.
From Vlieland to Egersund and then north bound along the coast. The most northern place I visited was the island Kinn. I only had a wind pilot and a phone with navionics for navigation. The last 20 hours of the north sea crossing there was a gale and quite rough seas but the boat with the wind vane sailed itself perfectly with out needing any of my assistance. I felt safe
the pictures to the rear show no engine, so I probably have the answer there. For longer voyages, it is probably the outboard that is my biggest concern
Late, but I'll try - how does your dog deal with long passages?! We need to land at least every 12 hours for our dog to pee/poo, how do you manage? Thanks! (Nice to see Vlieland, which I know - and I hope we get to Norway one day!)
I met the Finnish couple sailing with a dog for 11 years worldwide circumnavigation, she learned to do pee/poo on the bow, and its easy to wash off. In stormy weather she had a special space in aft cabin

That part around 3.30 is sublime. I really enjoyed this video. I have a 7m Invicta 26, long keeled boat.

thanks for the images. IF BOATS are the best!
Second best after the Folkbåt :-)
More suited to open water, though m
Nice sailing
Great!
amazing
You did this with a large dog? How does it work?
Hey cool vid. Where did you buy your wind pilot?
True sailor
What rout did you take? What kind of extra equipment do you have on your boat? How do you think the IF handles the big seas?

@@twaggenson Wow, that was very well done! I have an IF-boat myself. Very inspireing!
Hi there, interesting video! I have the same IF boat. Where did you buy these brown and round cockpit seats?
Hi hi, they came with the boat.
Yep, I want to know the same!
How long did it take you to go from Vlieland to Norway (and back)?
I think it was about 70 to 80 hours. 320 miles with about 4 knots average. (I stayed in Norway :))
Great inspiration! Did you have an outboard or inboard engine?
the pictures to the rear show no engine, so I probably have the answer there. For longer voyages, it is probably the outboard that is my biggest concern
@@boakka i had an outboard inside the aft locker. This is the original marieholm design. The outboard keeps the boat simple

I borrowed the dog when i came to Norway so no long passages with him.

What is a IF boat
IF or international folkboat is a glasfiber boat drawed by Tord Sunden. Very popular in Scandinavia with around 3500 built.
