As a slipjoint, neither of these could be a primary carry for me, only secondary and in a leather pocket sheath. On the Bexar, I'd rather it was a lock back, but still, especially in the Ultem at 1.0 oz, this is a really fine piece of engineering. Appreciate that you brought the Waypoint West 2.0 to attention... would be interesting if lighter, weight-wise. Still, these are both super nice. Appreciate the review!

Great video, like your opinions of each knife. I’m going to by the bexar but can’t decide if I want to pay 200$ for the Ultem material!I I love titanium and I know it’s probably the better option but I really like the Ultem handle.
Thought about this for a minute, and I’m going to say the Bexar. Not because it’s a better knife, but mostly because it’s thinner and easily fits into my pocket organizer. That would be the major determining factor for me. But the West is so, so good.
I like them both a lot for different reasons, the Bexar is just so thin it completely disappears in my wallet organizer, and it’s a lot of blade in such a compact package. The West is a tad softer in terms of spring tension combined with its smaller dimensions making it easier to close one handed. I do have to say the opening hole is also very easy and comfortable to use. It’s too close of a race for me personally, but I’d give a slight edge to the Bexar for its carryability and blade to footprint ratio, and the edge to the West for its smoothness of operation and clip. Love them both, keeping them both! I also know it’s pronounced Bear, but I’m not from Texas so I just can’t bring myself to pronounce it that way just yet. 😆

I just got the west 2.0. I think it smokes the Bexar (pronounced Bear btw).
