Hat off to all the players, coaching staff, officials, and families for doing all that they could do to get us to this level. Hopefully, the academies, teams, and federation come up with a 10-15-year program for the national team focusing on the youth, so we can compete in the World Cup 12 years from today. In my opinion, hiring a foreigner-experienced head coach to lead the program for kids is essential in teaching the children at an early age what it takes to be disciplined, tough physically and mentally, and play as a team in passing the ball, defending, and shooting for scoring. Hopefully, this experience is a wake-up call to realize that we are so behind in training, planning, and preparation when it comes to competing with the European and American teams. The loss of the Lebanese national team to the University of Arizona which ranks #22 in the NCAA is a great example of how far are we from competing in the World Cup. I think it is time to learn and explore the school programs for Basketball from successful nations and apply them in Lebanon. Great show, Jad. Thanks!
Great episode Jad! Thank you for your time to answer all these questions! I think Ahmad Ibrahim would make a big difference in the NT! He should get a chance and play in the qualifiers
Well said, this was the best possible outcome given Japan results. We can't send 1.8m guards to play against euro sizes .... with Brian and Matt we basically had a semi European team. Those days are gone, maybe we should naturalize under 16 talent from South 🇸🇸 in exchange for a scholarship program...once they become a Duop it's already too late.
Question : has anybody noticed that Ali Haidar averages 4 turnovers / game ?? and sometimes in critical moments like with France's last 2 minutes game .. remember the final against Australia , he decided to shoot the 3 from the beginning of the court and didn't pass the ball to Elie Chamoun or Wael or Hayk who were all waiting for the ball to shoot on the arc ..
Hi Jad! respectfully, the audience expects the best out of the national team so when subpar performances happen, we can't blame the die hard fans when they criticize the players...We have to stop with using the terms "bullying" or "harassment" when it comes to playing team sports! Just imagine what players endure in the NBA on the road for more than 40 games a year. The team performed well and ended up winning the last 2 games, something to be proud of, but there was no bullying....
Love how sometimes you answer the question by saying the account name as if it was his/her real name😂.. for example: min 23:58 “struggle,…”😂 Thank you for the episodes❤
Questions for the next episode of Q and A Do you think Bobo couldve been a better addition than Jad Khalil? Do you agree with me that if coach Jad el Hajj started with Wael as a guard and Sergio and KZ on 2 and 3 in game one, Lebanon wouldve played better than they did vs Canada? Of course I am not saying we wouldve won but the performance and defensive composure and maybe 3 points percentage and confidence with KZ shooting well, could have been better, thus the NT would not lose focus and not lose with such a huge point difference?
I certainly like this lineup better (or any lineup with Arakji as a PG). But as you said wouldn't have mattered really. Those teams are light years ahead of us.
Jad khalil laugh wasnt a mistake at all. But when you're an athlete and you work years to accomplish something such as going to WC you should enjoy every second. Thanks man. I agree with some of your points about the federation. I've been saying this for a long time but sadly politics is still running deeply in this game.. and without the politics, there's no money.. and without the money, no product...
This is not the same Jad Mbarak who used to criticize the federation and national team honestly. You’re only trying to highlight the positives from every situation and not talking about the catastrophic games vs Latvia and Canada.
I did say the preparation was very bad. And that someone should've monitored Omari outside of the coach (put the blame elsewhere). As for the first games, that's our level.
You always give Wael credits more than he deserves, in my humble opinion. He is a great player ofc, but being THAT emotional doesn't always come in his favor. It leads him sometimes to a lack of consistency. Unlike Amir, who is consistent and leads with his calmness on the ground, and calmness is IQ. It also leads him to being unprofessional with his reactions, he still can't take tough criticism, while he enjoys being praised ... by the same audience. A player of such caliber, experience and age shouldn't talk the way he did after France's loss. You say this is "emotional", I say this is childish / very high toxic ego, with all due respect (and I'm not talking about the crying, but about the last few words he said to the second journalist "disgusted by the fans blablabla..").
I honestly didn't see that. I only saw the clip of him crying to be fair so I can't comment about the other stuff. I already mentioned that fans have the right to criticize as much as they want. Also when it comes to giving Wael credit, make no mistake, without this guy we wouldn't have won the Arab cup, 2nd in Asia or maybe even qualified to the World Cup.
min 17:40 Sfeir Joe .. is mostly asking about the crazy reaction of Ali Haidar , complaining on court towards the referees 2- Omari Spellman is a great scorer , and ended up having 4 block shots per game ( the last 2 ) + the assists .. Omari could easily end up the game against Iran with 30+ points, but the leb players weren't giving him any passes .. everybody was playing selfishly maybe trying to earn the TCL player of the game ( i except except Sergio who plays for the team not for himself ) .. 3-Amir Saoud , scores a 3 but costs Lebanon another 3pt for his weak defense 4-in my opinion , the priorities to chose the players who play for the national team , should concentrate on SKILLED TALL players and VERY CONFIDENT SCORERS .. in this regard Ali Mansour , Ali Mezher and Jad Khalil don't fit for the national team unless they start shooting and THREATENING SCORER ..
how can teach Sergio how to defend without doing stupid fouls ? and I don't agree with what you said about athleticism our national team players are paid near European salaries ( not talking about euro league) they should take better care of their body and conditioning
Money isn't the only factor Rami. If you give me a million dollars, i can get better but ill never become as athletic as Westbrook for example. Luka Doncic and Jokic are a great example. Also, the players who are getting paid European salaries are a handful of players only..
@@thejadmbarakshow but most of our national team players are getting paid, what i mean to say that they can invest heavily in their diet and fitness they will never be like westbrook that should be done at a much younger age, but most of our players looked out of breath what i mean simply they have the money to invest a lot in themselves to be much better and i hope they get paid even more they deserve it they proved they are the best in the area but if we don't improve in shooting, fitness and athleticism i highly doubt we can beat Japan nor even south korea and the players will not have anyone from the federation to help they should do it. And I was annoyed when I have seen the kid Wael arakwazi crying because he was criticized by people via social media. Is he really a professional???!!! And if we had way better preparation, yes. But we didn't play against any top level European teams, and we couldn't close the game vs France because of that reason.
Question: Ali Haidar behavior on court is unexpectable , yelling and complaining towards the referees , if there is something to learn from Jordan is their obedience , politness on court .. Ali Haidar complains a lot i feel ashamed because he's giving a bad image of Lebanon
This does not make full sense.. You cannot compare Jordan players to Ali Haidar in terms of behaviour.. Yet I agree that Ali sometimes takes wrong decisions of wrong shots or hooks, average of turn overs and he suddenly loses focus...

Do u think AI can play the role of a scorer so we can naturalize a big man since we lack size under the basket?
He can, but even with him I'd still go with a tall forward who can score.
Arakji/Sergio/Ahmad/American/Haidar would be very good
