When I first watched this episode, there was enough content. I understood that Bansai and Takasugi both adored Matako. I arbitrarily see them as a deep triangle tbh (I don't add the loli guy even though he equally treasures her too). If Bansai and Takasugi didn't give a shit about her, she would've been dead ages ago by the crucification.
I personally think that she has more moments with Bansai, but I see that both guys treasure her (I call them the Kiheitai triangle {BansaixMatakoxTakasugi}). Even that lolicon dude does. Matako is literally the princess of Kiheitai.
