Glad she brought the period thingy up I can't imagine having to dance and practice and smile and not get enough sleep and all and being so irritated with everything but you can't do anything bcus your an idol/being on stage/what ever the fuck. Their humans too. All the girl groups, fighting!!

There was an interview where Sojung (a member of Ladies Code) talked about not getting hers during the time she was anorexic but other than that, this is one of the only times I've heard them mentioned that subject and I love them so much for it, it really makes you respect all girl groups even more!
Agree, it does take bravery to talk about that stuff. However, we're all ppl and it's natural, so I feel that less girls should be embarrassed about it🙂

Also, I'm glad someone talked about their periods. I have terrible cramps, backpains and always feel nauseous and cold to the point that I'll vomit every other month and painkillers don't really have an effect on me. Moments like this just enhance my respect for Heechul even more, actually taking the time out to listen to problems of girl group members of Pristin have, and is even going to write a book about it... talk about shocker right?! From the cultural differences between foreign members & Korean nationals brought up by Eunwoo & Kailla, and women monthly cycles brought up by Xiyeon ... all very important issues worth addressing. You'd think most men wouldn't even begin to understand the pains & suffer girl group members have to go thru during trainee stage and especially once successfully debuting... having to maintain very rough schedules and promoting live stages while in serious pain during their cycles I know this must be very hard on the girls, but I'm glad Heechul is so up on this and wants to know more about these issues so it can be written in his book. Hyung's many connections to girl groups and other agencies just show he is so in tune with everything around him and for that deserves so much respect. So proud of him!! 😊👌👌👌

I feel that if this is done right, it can actually help. Showing the South Korean society that scrutinizing female idols, and holding them to such high and impossible standards, is actually terrible and very damaging. It's even more harmful to the younger female idols. They are being treated like objects, sexualized despite their young ages, over worked, under paid, starved on many occasions, and pushed to always looks perfect. All idols must go through this obviously, male and female, but being a woman, you are held to a bigger standard and judged even more than a male. If Heechul truly write this book right, then it can truly help people understand the hardships of being a female idol, and in general, the hardships of being a female in a male dominated world. A wold in which instead of girls supporting other girls, we become some of our biggest critics and push each other down because of jealousy and hatred. I hope Heechul is in no way kidding about this, and that he puts in the work to show what a female idol TRULY goes through everyday.

I saw that it was actually done, but I don't know if it's published in bookstores or wherever.
But Heechul's book isn't an attack nor a flat-out criticism on the treatment of female idols. His book is an objective, helpful view on girl groups with testimonies from idols, reporters, and managers. The book will undoubtedly contain content that reveal hardships female idols go through, but the book is also, according to its title, focused on just conveying general knowledge, tips, and advice about girl groups. His book was never meant to expose injustices.
Only groups with a sexy concept or who change into a sexy concept for their comeback are sexualized. They are indeed overworked at times, but the result is the discipline and unison of girl group dances, which many Chinese and Japanese idol groups pale in comparison. Dance groups in general are very hard to coordinate and manage, not just idol groups. Many idols are underpaid because they really don't need to spend money on anything. Their agency provides almost everything for them, and it's not like some of these female idols have that much time to go out and buy their own things, coupled with the fact that because they're idols, many fans will flock around them. In the end, being an idol means you're asking for it. An idol is very different from a professional actor, singer, or dancer. It's supposed to appeal to a younger and more demanding audience. It honestly makes sense, I'm sorry to say, how this system works.

I'm glad they talked about periods, I think people (even some girls) have never thought about how has to be being an idol and having to deal with that once in a month while dancing, singing and doing all types of things normal for an artist. me, as someone who wants to become someone in this industry, I thought about that a lot and I'm really glad they mentioned it since it's a topic that people in that industry don't use to talk about. I would like to know more about the day of a girl idol, since they have to pass through a lot of things (waxing, period, etc) that boys don't have to.

i just wished Heechul would be SM ents. next CEO..like he was still counting each groups number from their original group number suju from 12-13 and snsd as ot9
then they'll only have gg and no bg.... lol
This episode is a kick in the gut to what pristin could have been had it been under better management.
