I made a mixed berry jam and apple last week. I used half the amount of sugar and I managed to get 4 jars of jam from it. Years ago when I was at school we were taught to make jams and marmalade and how to stretch out the soft fruit using the addition of apples, it would usually be blackberry and apple but from my experiment last week it also worked perfectly with the mixed berry fruits. The jam was delicious and it was still very sweet even though I used half the sugar. Yesterday I bought oranges and lemons so I am about to attempt to make marmalade after watching your marmalade tutorial. Wish me luck.

Hi Veena I’ve just made the jam but I don’t know where I went wrong it looks ok but when I tasted it the seeds are very crunchy so I pushed it through the sieve to get rid of it .It was a very hard job .
EK - raspberries are with seeds so unless you strain some of them in the beginning you will have a jam with seeds. If you choose to strain the juice before then you will need to add pectine

I make mine with seeds but you can pulse and strain before making jam

You will need to make the juice and strain it before you start jam.. and use artificial pectin as well
