That was fantastic! The best cockpit video I have seen of a take-off and landing. What better aeroplane than a Piet! Engine sounds beautiful, sounds like a Cub. Thank you for sharing.
I don't get how anybody can like flying these loud, open cockpit airplanes, especially with a passenger, when you're always having to look side to side of someone's head.
If you've ever flown tailwheel then you know having to look around someone is irrelevant because during taxi/takeoff/landing you can't see forward anyway, doesn't matter if it's a Cessna 180 or a J3 cub. Loud? A bonanza or light twin is loud....... Flying 65mph at 500ft on a warm evening in an open cockpit is as good as it gets, you can smell the fresh cut grass and bbq smoke, and everyone waves to the pilot in an open cockpit.
@@cpd2725 i dunno what that guy is on about! these things are hilariously fun. went up in one as a youngster in what was then just a dirt strip in Penn Yan,NY in the 1980's in the evening. I still remember the summer campfire smoke smell a few hundred feet above Keuka Lake. nothing better than that!

@@ct1762 He evidently doesn't have J-3 experience and never knew flying the way it should be.
