I felt like they were more of a rivalry than Nekoma right now idk what’s happening the manga tho but they were the more better rivalry and the two legendary matches
I was going to complain because they reused the shots. But I think the deliberately made it like that so that we can compare how much they grew after the loss. For example the spin in Kageyamas setup.
They reused certain small parts of the actions like the Suga + Kageyama move, but honestly it's fine. It's not like they overly reused animation or something, cut them some slack.

While Karasuno vs Shiratorizawa was a great match, the rematch of Karasuno vs Seijoh is my personal favorite (their first meeting in the tournament in Season 1 is also hella good). I think it might have to do with me knowing who Seijoh were before the match. Shiratorizawa was always this mythical, unstoppable opponent that, outside of Ushijima, we never got to meet until Season 3 itself. With Seijoh, we know these guys, and we know about the personal conflicts the team's players have with each other (Kageyama and Hinata vs Oikawa, Kageyama vs Kandaiichi, etc.) and it makes for fantastic storytelling. If any of you have watched Avatar: The Last Airbender, it's like the Zuko-Azula fight and the Aang-Ozai fight. The Aang-Ozai fight is undoubtedly the bigger and grander fight and the climax of the entire show, but we'll always love the Zuko-Azula fight more because of the personal connection between the combatants. Hyping up an unseen, all-powerful opponent makes for good buildup, but it'll always have less payoff than a battle between a well-known rival/enemy.
In Avatar, also because that fight is just objectively better done. The animation, sound and plot is all better in Zuko vs Azula. Aang just wins because of a deus-ex-machina, kinda silly that he got hit by a rock in just the right place at just the right time, when he was supposed to have lost his Avatar state forever.
I like how the editors and creators of the anime chose to add similar movements into the game, which gave me flashbacks and it kinda shows how much karusuno improved!
This just shows how much Hinata and Kageyama actually developed. The spin of the ball from Kageyama's set and how Hinata keeps his eyes open and finds a path through the blockers.
that final spike by hinata... season 1 oikawa almost KNEW the ball wasn't going to go over, it almost looked like he just didn't move season 2 oikawa knew that hinata had his eyes open, he acknowledged hinata's growth and knew the ball was going past the block. chills. literal chills.
This was the most hype thing in Anime for me ever. The excitement of not knowing what's gonna happen, the dread of knowing they already lost to Oikawa the same way, the way Oikawa checked the spot Hinata was targeting... Man.
I love how much more time is taken in s2, feels like the players can see it much more clearly and make desicions, in control and not just trying to keep up with the pace but CONTROLLING the pace
something I love that haikyu does is the highlighted brightness + color around the winners and the darker outlining + colors of the losers. Displaying how they feel (joy and despair or sadness)
It's amazing how they justify reusing this scene with small details. The same movement, but that is extremely effective because the two are completely different. The way Kageyama adds spin to the ball, as Hinata has his eyes open to choose the best place to attack ... Simply incredible!
This gives me chills because when Karasuno played vs Inarizaki the Miya twins said “this angle, this timing, is perfect”... and lost just like Kageyama and Hinata lost in their first match vs Aoba Johsai.
