Voiceplay reach the places no other acapella group do. The Beaatbox guy is Layne Stein and he's amazing, He also has a beautiful voice when he gets to sing. Geoff you know, Geoff Castellucci, low bass singer and walking bass guitar The guy at the back with the rock voice (aka little bald guy) is Eli Jacobson. ( say it as eliie), and the guy with the hair is Cesar de la Rosa, newest member of the group. VoicePlay are known as the theatre kids of acalpella. As for talent, they make their own arrangemtns, usually Geoff or Layne, they do the lighting, the sets, the filing and the editing.. Not many groups do it all themselves. However their range of genres is huge, so I know you're going to enjoy your journey with VoicePlay and Geoff's "solo" videos. Lovely reaction.

They also use Rob Dietz for arrangements but I have noticed that fans don't like mentioning Rob even on the songs he arranged. He recently published a book "A Cappella 101: a Beginner's Guide to Contemporary A Cappella Singing"

Voice Play are known as The Theater Kids. Either Geoff ( Jeff ) the low bass singer or Layne the beat boxer do almost all their own arrangements, Eli the high tenor ( cute little bald guy ) does the lighting, Layne also works as the camera man, Geoff does the outfits & they all take turns with the background. They Geoff's wife Kathy is their production manager & for Geoff in his solo works. They are a total package.

These Acapella groups are so amazing. Home Free and VoicePlay have remained friends since the SingOff. Geoff and Layne from VP have done arrangements for a couple of HF songs and Tim Foust, Rob Lundquist and Chris Rupp of HF have guested on VoicePlay's channel.

It looks like you are just discovering Voiceplay and having fun with Geoff 😁 Geoff Castellucci has quite alot of content on his own channel as well that he developed during quarantine.
You do know that Avi, Geoff and Tim Foust of Homefree are the big 3 American acapella basses and all are very friendly? If anyone asks you to do a "bass battle" between them there are quite a few and they just compare everyone's low notes.
Try Homefree's Ring of Fire ft. Avi Kaplan as an easy way over to them and you get both at once 😁
Voiceplay is the most theatrical of the 3. Based in Florida near Disney world. Try their newest Running Up That Hill ft Kate Bush and make sure you play it to the very end some reactors have been cutting off too soon and miss the ending.

Just a tiny correction, Running Up That Hill is featuring Ashley Diane and is a Kate Bush cover. :) But I completely agree and cheer for everything else you said! ;)

A cappella singers must be precise and have great rhythmic skills. To that, VoicePlay adds stunning ranges. Every one of them routinely sing WAY outside their "assigned" ranges - in Running up That Hill there's a moment when Geoff exits the basement and soars up to join the soprano on D5, then plunges right back down again. Cesar, the baritone, sang the high note in Dream on (Eli could have done it beautifully, Cesar wanted it and they gave it to him.) Eli can cover bass. None of it makes any sense, and none of them stay in their own lanes. So when Geoff or Layne are writing harmonies, they often interweave in a way that I don't hear from anyone else. Their creativity is way beyond.
The pandemic was good for VoicePlay. They started releasing 1-2 new performances every month, constantly stretching themselves. Hoist the Colors (Geoff's arrangement) and Halo (Layne's) came out one after the other. Both gave the guys problems, they were hard, both were spectacular and took them to a whole new level. Every performance since has broken new ground.

The lineup you saw in Oogie Boogie was stable from 2017-2020. Since then, they've lost Earl and JNone. Cesar is the new permanent member in JNone's (baritone) spot. Earl's (high tenor) spot is still open, so they're doing vids (which perhaps are also auditions) with a number of guests (male and female) in that spot.
