Jinho is definitely very cute usually, but there is this one face that he does while performing and oh boy, the duality is strong 🥵 Also yes, BTOB & Pentagon actually have a lot of interactions be it behind-the-scenes videos or shows. My fave has to be when they did a Karaoke show together and sung Baby Shark a capella. All of them. Together. I didn't know if I should laugh or be amazed honestly XD
pentagu's guide to each member is probably the most well done and helpful of all. i'm so glad you checked jinho's. :D
also, as jinho was part of the military band, he got lots of exposure. usually, artists who enlist in the military band get to sing and perform a lot, and those perfs are uploaded online. he even had a duet with btob hyunsik and sungjae (they sang "blue whale" and it's included in this guide) while they're enlisted haha and it's kind of a running joke in the fandom that jinho suddenly became a vlogger when he enlisted 😂 the last bit of the guide was him doing a vlog haha
hearing you say jinho sounds the most heartfelt is so funny because hes the least emotional so the other members beg him to cry for once 😭 but overall pentagon is very honest with their feelings and talk about them a looooot and aren't scared to be vulnerable on camera either, its really refreshing to see
So true 😭 I only remember seeing him cry like twice? he rarely cry, but once he cry..... The whole universe gonna drown in tears 😭😭😭
The one thing the guide has missed is that Jinho is actually a really good rapper!! Like he can seriously rap. I think you can find Jinho rapping compilation somewhere.

jinho joined sm in 2008, was supposed to debut in a group before exo (exo’s debut date 2012) but somehow it didn’t go as planned… later sm stated to have zero plans for his debut when he left in 2015… they wasted his talent so bad so i’m glad cube gave him the chance he was waiting for so long, and i’m forever thankful he got to debut with such a great group
Jinho is definitely someone who can just pull you in with just his voice. It’s so hypnotic and beautiful. There’s so much character and soul he puts into it. He’s truly one of the best, if not the best vocalist in the industry. One of the many things I admire about him is how *seriously* passionate it is about what he does. Not only can he sing, but he loves it, breathes it. The whole point of Magazine Ho was just so that he can sing because that’s what he loves to do. His time in Pentagon before having to enlist in the military is quite short compared to other boy group members due to his age, but you can tell how grateful he was to be able to live his dream in Pentagon. This group really was his last chance and I’m so glad he was able to make it because he’s truly such a gem. Actually, Jinho doesn’t cry often so the rare times he sheds tears it hits real different. He’s just very insightful and knowledgeable and someone I respect a lot on multiple basis. As someone who has a love for singing, I really look up to him for just about everything he does with his voice. One of the things I love about Pentagon’s main vocals is that Hui and Jinho are just on a whole other level, it’s absolutely nuts. But the both of them are just so different in their delivery, tone, etc. They compliment each other so well I can’t imagine one without the other, like two sides of the same coin. Hui is basically the face of the group, the leader, and a damn good at that, but as the guide said, Jinho really is that central pillar. He’s the most level headed in the group and god. I just can’t stop the praises for him. I’m just so excited that he’s FINALLY coming back in a week!!! This reaction reminded me of that, so thank you!

Jinho got permission to do a military vlog, along with two performances with Sungjae and Hyunsik. Sungjae was in the same unit as Taemin but they don’t get to post much personal stuff while serving but that unit does A LOT of promotional/performance videos for the SK general public. It’s the Ministry of National Defense (MND) band.
the videos in the military dont really happen often, we're getting a bit spoiled because right when he enlisted the actual military band made a youtube channel to promote it or something like that so he did a lot of vlogs and performances there for the channel!! and yesss he really is one of the more heart felt ones (or more like wise) from the group... i'd say its because of how much he went through before managing to debut, he and shinwon really are alike when it comes to having deep conversations and talking about feelings with the fans
What a wholesome reaction to Jinho! He's such a talented man and I'm so glad he ended up debuting with PENTAGON, their chemistry is on another level definitely. I wish more people could pay more attention to him and the group as well.

YESSS YOUNGK X JINHO WOULD BE A DREAM COME TRUE, THEY BOTH HAVE SUCH GOOD VOCALS FOR JAZZ/CLASSICAL/SOULFUL SONGS. Definitely my favorite vocalists :)
Jinho is very self-disciplined because he started living by himself at a young age. His family moved to China when he was in middle school but he wanted to be a singer so he moved back to Korea by himself at 14 😆 He didn't become a trainee until 16?

A Jinho x Young K collab would have me DEAD as both are my Ults. His enlistment literally broke me. I had to like forget his existence or i would be forever sad lol So happy he's back but now Young K is gone :,,,)
They actually have a genre called Melodic rap…it’s what many kpop songs contain.
Jinho has 41 covers/songs under Magazine Ho currently. We are really hoping he brings it back starting in November or December.
Edit: Kino wrote a duet for Jinho called Gravity that they released under Magazine Ho…you should definitely check it out.

I always say this, sometimes if a group is lucky, they'd have an amazing vocalist like Hui. But very very rarely, wd they have someone like Jinho. And the fact that ptg has both Hui and Jinho, and still be slept on rly baffles me. And this is just on vocals alone. Also if you think about it, their main vocalists are all ex trainees from the big 3 - hongseok (YG), Hui (JYP) and Jinho (SM). Groups have gotten more hype for much less than that, why cdnt ptg. 😩 anw I love what you said about them not having a facade when talking and I was so glad u noticed it too :") This is one of the reasons why I was rly drawn to these guys. And if you thought jinho was the most heartfelt, oooooo boy hahahahaha. Ptg boys have a way of wrecking u every single time. They're just so genuine it's such a breath of fresh air.
The vid when jinho sing in military 20:16, he actually duet with Sungjae from Btob. And yes Btob and Pentagon has a lof of interaction. Really2 a lot.

They have a duet with Jinho & Sungjae, Jinho and Hyunsik, Sungjae & BTOB4U, Sungjae and an American soldier, Sungjae, Ricky (teen top), Taemin, and several others, Changsub & Key singing together, Eunkwang with CLC.

Super excited to have Jinho back!! Pentagu's member guides are among the best and you'll find lots of uni's recommend them. If you ever get the chance, definitely go and watch them, either to react or just in your own time. They give you a deeper understanding of who the members are as people and their relationship with the group too.

When you asked "Why don't all kpop artists do that?" about Military band- I was thinking recently about this but there's like two different sides of the idol-personality spectrum. The heavily music impassioned "born to be a celebrity / musician" ones (Jinho, see also Key, Taemin, Changsub, etc etc) and you see them join military band. Then there are those that love physical challenges, who became idols through sheer physical determination and you get Minho (Shinee) working his way up to being a squad leader in the Marines after graduating as top 3 out of 1000 or so recruits (also idols like TVXQ Yunho etc). It's quite interesting to think about!

the korean military has a band for each unit if im not mistaken and idols/singers usually joins it and they play in the festivals usually, they also have musicals in which idols/singers/actors also joins!
Jinho and BTOB Blue are really active in public while serving in military tho....

I thought it would be a good way to introduce him before he actively starts promoting with the group again 😊 I’m glad you noticed that the boys are all very sincere and genuine, especially when it comes to their Vlives, nothing feels forced or faked with them. Also, Pentagon actually have a tonne of interactions with all of their fellow Cube artists, BTOB especially but im not sure if there is a compilation put together. I know there are ones for their CLC and (G)I-dle friendships - maybe a future request? 😋

I think Jinho was enlisted in the military band, i saw a video of him and hyunsik (btob) in that uniform togather, Shinee Key and BTOB Changsub and Sungjae were in it too, including alot of other idols too

I enjoyed this reaction so much! Pentagu's guides are amazing, they have one for each member which is great! It would be amazing if you can check out the other members guides, you don't necessarily have to react to them, but you should check them out. You can see their personalities and talents very well. You will fall even more in love with Pentagon.

Ahhhhh yes, possibly coming the closest to displacing my ult bias, Kyuhyun, is definitely Jinho. Supported him since SM the Ballad and freaked out when I found out he was finally debuting, so he was my immediate bias.

As for the military thing, I'm not 100% on this so don't quote me, but in general for all eligible males, they are typically assigned to specific branches/roles based on conscription criteria amongst other factors (for example they could take into account previous injuries and deem you unable to be active-duty but still able to serve as supplemental personnel). However, certain positions require specific applications bc they're heavily sought after -- this can go both ways for "safer" roles (i.e. military band or public service workers) or for more specialized groups. They generally try to get idols/artists into the more Non-active duty roles but you'll have some who will willingly enlist in those higher-rank groups -- Minho deliberately applied for Marine Corps as he prepared for his enlistment & AKMU's Chanhyuk was initially assigned as a public service worker but requested a voluntary switch to the Marines.

Yeah between hui and jinho, jinho’s better but bc of hui velvet vocal color, he’s more favored plus he got exposed in alot of shows than jinho. So, jinho is more underrated
