…….Costco is full of it!! Corporate GREED!! I’ll still SPLIT the price of the membership with a friend, and get a 2nd card.
That's how Costco makes money, through membership not so much the items they sell. This benefits communities so people should be paying for membership. You CAN add a second person to your card for a small fee. That's fair.
If you understood how Costco actually makes it's money, maybe you'd understand why they do what they do. Look up the Costco video by The Fat Electrician.
They HAVE to let you use their pharmacy without membership. So how will this work? I never show my Sam's Club membership card when I go there. I tell them I'm going to pharmacy, and they let me go in, because they don't have a choice. I'm pretty sure it is the law, at least in the state where I live. Which means that applies to Costco too.
Costco never marks anything up more than 15% so they don't make much and they have a ton of building staff and other expenses it's a good value when you consider how much people spent on phone service or subscription services. Works out to 5 dollars a month..
I think they should just use facial recognition so I don't even need to pull out my card. There is still a person at the door. I think they are supposed to check the picture to see if you are the person on the card. I am not sure they really did checked.

"Costco is cracking down on their buyers". Great decision, I'd say! Sharing their buyers with other stores must be good for business.
But they stil have to accept the Costco shop cards!

I honestly think that Costco should be more selective in granting memberships like they used to back in the Costco/Price Club days. Back in those day you had to be a government employee, union member, business owner or member of a credit union.
Id never pay a fee every single year to shop. Crazy.
I think its fair don't like it shop at Sams club!
@@AndrewTaylor-ru2ho um... Sam's is also a membership club. Not as good, but a club you pay for. For shoppers who don't purchase much, paying to shop may not make sense, but for the majority of American's who buy for families the cost of membership at Costco is more than worth it. I easily earn back my cost of membership every year with the 2% cash back reward! Love Costco!
I save over $250 in gas a year just by purchasing gas at Costco. And I save much more on grocery and clothing. For me, $60 a year is a no brainer. It’s less than Spotify premium.
The only change in reality is just the person at the door won't be there anymore and sadly probably unemployed.
My card had my ugly face on back since the dawn of Fred Flintstone. Now it's in color ? Ooooo wow, color, and I have to scan my card just like I do at the register ?

Great company . If you don’t like Costco then don’t shop there .
