This reminds me of when I worked with a plumber in a small college town in Washington State 48 years ago, I was 21. He had an old blue chevy pickup with a wooden cover with side cabinets in the bed. When you lifted the rear hatch the whole bed was a huge mound of plumbing parts, pieces, and tools, that looked like a junk pile. It had that smell. He knew where every item was and spent little time finding what was needed on service calls. The springs on the truck were shot so it sagged in the rear from the load. His name was Homer, he taught me many things that I have used thru my life ......I miss him.
The Jetter's Edge staff are extremely professional. They even remembered Ratty. I would recommend them any day just by watching their work ethic. Hats off to them!

Sad that the reliable little Honda had to go, but glad the inside of the van finally got a “bit of a wash” 😄 Thanks for sharing, Ollie, I’m sure the new jetter will be _all good!_ 👍
2k hours is not entirely overworked but it paid for itself several times over.. theres a multitude of reason why but seeing how clean the oil filter was im sure that engine had regular maintenance
The sound of that Honda was actually one of the things that drew me in when I found this channel 2½ years ago. Especially the sound that it makes when it gets loaded down running the high pressure pump right after opening the water valve. It lived a hard life. We the viewers got to follow along for a part of it. I'm looking forward to seeing whatever comes after it :)
The hard life it lived was because of not enough oil changes. Oil looks pretty milky (has water in it) in the shots of the engine disassembled at the end. Water does not lubricate engine parts well. With better maintenance, it would've gone WAY longer
Those hondas can out last you 😂. I love these small engines even if u destroy them u can rebuild them easily even if the engine is like 40yo they still makes parts for them. And this why it's worth paying extra for Honda engine.
@@gorak9000 hmmm water in oil on an air cooled engine? Maybe condensation?and that usually burns off when ran frequently as in this case it runs every day.. I didn't see any signs or water or moisture
@@daddysails8926 Part of what he shows at the end is definitely the gearbox from the pressure pump - in pressure pumps, the high pressure seals fail eventually and water from the water side makes it way into the pump crankcase and mixes with the oil. If you catch it early, you can just replace the high pressure seals, but if the bearings have been run with water in the oil for a while, it's probably not economical to repair - just better to replace the whole pump. But he definitely also shows the engine apart, and you can see the crankshaft and both rods - the oil in there looks better, but not great either.
@@gorak9000 that means what you are call a ( gear case ) would have to fill up to the crankshaft in order to force water through the crankseal seal,,, not really sure they are a wet coupling . That thing would have to have a quart or liter of water in it or more
Good earner that Honda. He charges a $300 flat fee. So assuming the average job is 1 hour (at 2118hrs) that nets him about $635,400. Minus the cost of the thing, about $9k, petrol, maintenance etc probs around $5k . That little engine earned him about $620,000. Nice work Ratty!!!

Considering Honda engines are usually only rated for 800 hours (Althrough we all know they do more) over 2000 is pretty great, especially considering the heavy work it was doing.
800 hours? Any commercial grade engine should go well over 2,000 hours and with good service might go 4,000 hours between overhauls. An oil change every 200 hours would have gone a long way toward that!
@@rupe53 I was thinking the same thing that it should of lasted longer and seeing how jammed in there it was I doubt any servicing went in to the engine. My dad had a B&S engined push mower from the 70s that lasted well over 15 years and all he did was change the oil every year. What did the engine in was he mowing around a tree and hit a metal rod he didn’t see and shattered the crank. He should have a pullout sled so he can service it and get more life outta it.
@@JechtAruon ... @@lynch6642 Also at the end, it looks like it was the gearbox between the engine and the pump that failed, and that oil looks pretty milky, like it has a bunch of water mixed into it. And at 26:59 that looks like the engine crankshaft (large pistons) and the oil looks milky there too. Milkshake oil = bad. I just replaced the pump on my pressure washer in the spring of this year - one of the seals on the pump plungers went, and water was getting into the crankcase of the pump, and the oil was all milky (and leaking out). When I took it apart, the ceramic plunger was actually cracked, so not economical to repair - I just got a whole new pump. Of course mine is only a 2000psi 3gpm little toy compared to this behemoth, but the pump was only about $300. The old Honda 5.5HP engine still has TONS of life left in it.

Ya with all the old plumbing In Australia and the crazy trees it's a big market with all the cool jetter heads they have would love to see Oli give them a spin.
Alas poor Honda Jetter. We knew thee well. You suffered thru all the slings & arrows of misfortune & suffered the consequences of school boys holding their noses as they passed by. They gave you no respect. But look at the positive Ollie. Your van got a nice pressure washing, like the ones you give to various sidewalks & patios & even Ratty & Croc got a much deserved wash-down. And a clean-out was most needed. And while we know you have a deep sadness for a job well done from a old friend, at least you were able to keep up a good humour with your most infectious & hearty laugh! Good fortune in the future & have a Merry Christmas and A Happy New Year from beautiful Senoia, Georgia of the US of A!
I think that's an air cooled motor that uses blades on the flywheel to blow air over the heads (You can see the angled fins on the old motor at the beginning).. By placing the face of it against something you are going to restrict it's cooling.
Awesome customer support and service! Now we gotta work on getting a bigger van lol and good to see ratty and croc cleaned up lol Magpie is missing out for sure.
Take the chance that they kindly clean up your van, and make some order in your VAN. Maybe some shelves for small suitcases. Stuff you used more often put in front - like road cones, the rest in the back. Try to have a special place from each item. You may use paint in spray to mark space on the floor of your VAN for selected items. You deserve a Ford truck!
Here's one for you, keeping things clean in the back, just need a water tight cabin wall and then remote control for the jetter with a big magnum on it, then just give it 2 min after each working day. Clear as mud every day :) Sad to see the old banger giving a last bang. Hope a new one will be ready soon, so we get to enjoy some more water pressure making wonders in the pipes, with the help of a very skilled operator. Merry Christmas to everyone
Are you sure that maybe it wasn't the impeller? It looks like it's the whole entire unit so if an impeller bearing went then it would make it look like that the Honda died

Looks like you could use some shelving to store your gear, too, when they set you up again. But then, you always seem to know where everything is. At least you used to. Thanks for sharing the video. I look forward to seeing the new system.
Those blokes went above and beyond to get you cleaned up.
Are all the people over there so cool and laidback?? The vibe is awesome!!!
I really feel for you with your machine breaking down, it’s done some work though! The Jetters Edge should put it in a glass case on display.
Glad they sorted you out with a temporary one though.
Farewell to the old machine, lasted 2811 hours. Paid for itself I would presume! Best of luck with the new one, Ollie. Merry Christmas. Cheers mate! 🇦🇺🙂👍🇺🇸
Only 22 jobs billed at a premium, pays for its self, eh!?
Nice to get the truck all cleaned out while you were at it. Might be time for a new truck soon too!
Looks like at least a meter longer is needed.
I sometimes think it would be nice to get rid of my 2014 GMC van with 190,000 miles on it. It would be nice to have a MB Sprinter. Then I regain my senses. I'm a carpenter in Maine, USA
Roy Ordway, retired tile setter here, my first was an 86 Mazda b2000 sold at almost 300 thousand, then 90 dodge van sold at almost 250 thousand, my last was a 2000 cummins dually..sold at 200 thousand. Run em til they drop.
@@donniebrown2896 but the cummins had 800k left
An unexpected Christmas replacement that provides the gifts for your family that your God given talent provides. May you and your Team enjoy the Blessings of this Miracle Season Oliver. See you, Ratty, Croc and Magpie in 2022. Thanks for many hours of good, “clean,” fun!
Merry Christmas to you and yours Oliver. Thank you for all the hours of entertainment through this pandemic.
This is a good time to rearranged the van now. New Honda for the win and new sound. I do have to say this is 5 star services to have your van cleaned out and the motor changed. I like that. Oh man that is a beauty and a huge beast. Getting some new up-grades. So I guess everything is back where it is. Yea, Ratty will will say it easy to find stuff but for the next person.. where is this and that.. I can't find anything. :D
You know what this means right Ollie? You won’t be able to find your gear as easily when you need it now! 😂 Merry Christmas to you and your family again Ollie 🎄
Just needs to watch the video to see where it went.
give it a week and the important stuff will all be on top of the pile again.
@@rupe53 Hahahahahahahaha!!!!!
Merry Christmas Olly. Got to admit, those guys were spot on...I can't see you being able to rock up to anywhere where I live and get a temp engine on loan and that level of service. Definitely top blokes and a real quality and professional outfit. Proper job!!
Worst Christmas EVER.
RIP Honda, but great to see you clear out the van, finally! ;)
The floor of that van hasn't seen daylight in years. XD
lol
Finally your van got a clean up, I was going to come down and do it myself . Merry Christmas and keep well
At least they professionaly wrecked the bumper at around 05:00 :')
Sad to see the old one go, but good to see the van get a much needed clean. 🙂
Maybe we can arrange some organizing lessons for you with the Penetrator. ;-)
Rest in peace 🙏🏽 that engine was making strange noises since two or three videos ago.
You gotta keep oil in those things, and change it once in a while - they tend to work better that way
@@gorak9000 Very true and there's not much oil on the floor, (rainbow colors) that's a good sign that has not ever been changed
@@gorak9000 Yes you're correct, I got halfway through the video and thought I would throw my 2 cents in... thank you
@@gorak9000 This is why fleet operators require specific regular maintenance on their units and teach employees tool care. If you don't care for it, you don't keep it (or even still keep that job). Ollie is an O/O it's just him.
Wow that van is sooooo packed! I bet going down the road its loud in there hahaha. My work van for when I did hvac was so stuffed it was like a hardware store going down the road i could not hear anything. Also broken off exhaust after the cat on a 350ci chevy v8 was also not quiet😂
This vid is a prime example, of why one should never mess with a system... Because none of that seemed to go back as to where it lay before,..
Brave little Honda to all the years that came and to all that hard work it has done thank you little brave Honda
Love how he organises his tools in the van. So orderly 🤣
Machinery seems to have a habit of breaking at Christmas. Glad you are back up and running. Thanks for a great year of videos.
This was so much fun to watch! Can’t wait to see the new one put in.
@6:00 that's the cleanest that van been after from going into service 👍 I did the same years ago when my car got flooded by hurricane Sandy with dirty sea water.......ripped out the entire interior & components and washed it out thoroughly, even inside the doors ,panels & frame
Glenn: "want to give your van a quick wash before you go mate?"
Ollie: "That's just going too far Glenn"
3:19 „Warning protected my Jesus“
Lol I’ve never noticed this before 🤣
It blows my mind that there’s a dedicated store and service center for this specific trade! I always wondered how everyone got all the high pressure spray equipment and such. Now I know!
Ya with all the old plumbing In Australia and the crazy trees it's a big market with all the cool jetter heads they have would love to see Oli give them a spin.
Ollie visits Jetters Edge in some of his earlier uploads
Between plumbers and pressure washers according to their website, I'd bet they make a killing
Man, this is a sad day. We’ve been through so much together. So many starts.
@@GWN90 yeah they are gonna rebuild the engine so he can use it even more
Awesome customer support and service! Now we gotta work on getting a bigger van lol and good to see ratty and croc cleaned up lol Magpie is missing out for sure.
That’s a surprise. Hope all will be well!
If only you had some way to spray that dirt out of your van. Maybe with pressurized water?
Here's one for you, keeping things clean in the back, just need a water tight cabin wall and then remote control for the jetter with a big magnum on it, then just give it 2 min after each working day. Clear as mud every day :)
Sad to see the old banger giving a last bang. Hope a new one will be ready soon, so we get to enjoy some more water pressure making wonders in the pipes, with the help of a very skilled operator.
Merry Christmas to everyone
Your going to need a bigger truck boss
That’s a place with great service. Taking care of the customer is king!!!
Such low hours, not enough oil and filter changes would be my guess.
Are you sure that maybe it wasn't the impeller? It looks like it's the whole entire unit so if an impeller bearing went then it would make it look like that the Honda died
@@x_x_w_ what impeller?
Its a pressure pump, not a pool pump.
@@elonmask50 I'm sure he meant cooling fins and either that or oil an change, but they sure don't make them like they use to even if you do routine maintenance, they're mostly plastic on the insides
@@lynch6642, even my Chonda powered portable alternators do 4 thousand hours, and they spend their entire life at 3000 RPM, but I change their oil every 100 hours.
It may be a pump failure, I’m just going off the guys saying that the rod had knocked, and given the degree of difficulty accessing either the oil filter or the drain plug the way it was installed in the van.
@@elonmask50 Yeah and you know, some of those have oil filters and some don't, I try and do services with no filters at 100 hours
2000+ hours between van cleanings. Too bad the jetter died causing it. The guys at The Jetter's Edge are top notch. Great service!
Two videos in one week!!
Yeah first time since June
A full service salon, and so professional, cool.💚💚
wow did you see croc fighting back at the jet when he was getting a bath, snapping away at the water. ratty just laid back and enjoyed. it`s probably best we dont talk about ratty`s only fans page where he shows all his private vids of him riding down the pipes on the back of the jetting heads. great vid
RIP lil Honda, thank you for so many good times, want to see the v.2 installed already! merry Christmas Ollie!! cheers from Argentina mate
I pitty you on the next job after everything was so "neatly" arranged before the replacement took place. And when the new genny comes home. Same story all over again. Strongs Ollie...but on a Merry note. Thank you for making the lockdown bearable since March 2020 when I discovered your channel. I wish you and your loved ones a Merry Christmas and a blessed New Year ahead.
Wont be able to find anything in the van now. Lol. Thanks for the mid week upload! Awesome! Keep up the great work!
I've been wanting to send the Detail Geek to you for years. I'm all in for a GoFundMe to get you a bigger van. Happy Holidays 😊
Wow, nice new jetter setup. Cleaning up the van was priceless.
Amazing service. Great advertising for them too. Hope it brings more business their way…..
All gooooood .... Ollie's van is now unblocked from dirt and grime. Have a great Christmas !!
I can’t get over how much stuff you carry in, what is by American standards, a relatively smaller sized van. Amazing.
We should never forget the little engine that could. The little brave little Honda
Love cleaning vans, looks you're a gardener with all that good soil @ the back 😁
Good top soil for the corn 🌽 😆 🤣 poor jetter R.I.P probably doubled or tripled 600 jobs easy, and ratty got a good wash! 👍
2118 hours on a Honda v-twin, that's amazing. RIP jetter! Your watch is over. Can't wait to see the new one up and running (although I imagine 8 months late, it's probably doing fine, lol.)
