This is really useful. A simple, straightforward, accurate refresher on stuff I learned (and promptly forgot) from school. One thing to note if anyone's using this for programming, your cos / sin / asin functions will probably want this in radians, so divide by 180 and multiply by pi when entering the parameter if you're working with degrees.
I cannot explain to you how much this video saved my life. I had an assignment for my geo class due tonight, and I had no idea how to do this one problem. I had all sides but I needed the angle. An hour of being in the brink of tears later, I find your video with my friend. We plug in our numbers, and we got it right!!! We are elated and so grateful that you decided to post this on UA-cam. Thank you so much.
you can choose yourself from what im aware of. Just make sure the small letters are opposite the big ones (im in year 10 Australia so im not very smart)
If you notice, when he does the difficult calculations which might require a calculator, he looks down subtly, which means he's already written down the answer, or has a calculator down off-screen.
Hi there, I know you are trying to discover sinB but why do you say you will multiply both sides by sinB and by sin21 degrees as well as dividing by 14 and then undertake a different equation of sinB=17sin21/14 What does inverse sine mean and why do we do it? How do we know when there may not be a second possible solution to an angle? Why would you begin finding the side of C using side and angle A rather than side and angle B? Thanks, J
He's a doctor of mathematics who's helping strangers on the internet understand trigonometry. I definitely don't need him to put on a suit and tie. His explanation is very understandable to me. If you need to hear something again, you can just go back a few seconds in the video.

Glad it helped!
I did year 11 maths1 & maths 2 (decades ago) and cannot recall being shown this..we did only right handed trianages.
this was well explained and in-depth awesome
your videos are always problem-solving.
Well-explained. Thank you!
how do you know which side is which letter, a, b or c?

Thank you, this really helped me. :)

this helps me big time thank you but how is that he calculates so fast without a calculator
Hes probably going off a script
He's learned sweety

Very clearly explained. Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!

the way he writes the '8' is just... premium xD
Is there any way you could solve this problem algebraically? no calculator at all?
no way, when using Sine or Cosine or Tangent you need a calculator; they are not numbers
So useful!! Im studying for my SAT exam
Glad we could help! Good luck with your exam!
the production on this is fantastic at 9 years old
I just wanna know the length of a hypotenuse of a non right angle triangle. Is there an easier way¿
Bruh the hypotenuses is the angle opposite to the right angle. It doesn't exist here
How much third side

Raina thank you Raina :)))
Yeah still don’t get it
i love this man
Damn...The whiteboard magically switching graphs and pictures be like "PaRkOuR"
So there was 2 cases right and there were 2 sides for c for case 1 and 2 which one is correct?
Thanks doc
Thanks a lot!!
This is very helpful expert the way he draws 8 triggers me xD
That was understandable
Super great. Love your work

"quick maths " bruh 😂😂😂😂
Actually is tho
Wait a minute... Something ain't right
Amazing video thank you!
THANKS!!!!!!
It really helped
who's hiding behind the board erasing it
math sucks
this isnt correct, it didnt work for me and i did my work over like 3 times
I am probably wrong but I got 445 instead of 435 can anyone tell me where I went wrong.
Cheers 👍
No problem fount it 😅
No we can use sine rule in any situation...knowing the 3 side...you have no need for the Cosine rule.
You keep skipping a step, I cant understand how you make c=14sin133.2°. You wont show how you came to that process.
In the previous eqn he multiplies sin133.8 on both sides. He writes the eqn as c = 14sin133.2/sin21
Bruh u jus cross multiply he be tellin u what he doing
Test tm…..
Still saving high school students lives 7 years later and many years to come 🙏😂
Badly explained, this is the kind of stuff that ticked me off as a kid trying to learn this stuff.
sorry man, your math is wrong
Speak up and slow down, can't hear what you are saying, also your presentation is scruffy, and needs tidying up.
