St. Raphael of Brooklyn is my Patron Saint by accident.
I liked his Life and was fascinated by him. But I decided to be named Patrick for my Baptism, fast forward through my Catechism and I was discussing with Father Baptism Dates. We couldn't do Sunday of the Prodigal Son, the following week was Meatfare and I looked at the OCA Calendar and that was St. Raphael's Repose.
Never looked back. Still love St. Patrick though.

I have been watching your content for a awhile now and I can tell you are a genuine person. But I have one question for you. What do you do with all the different communions within orthodoxy and the varying ideologies on certain theological matter? How can it be the one true church when within orthodoxy there is no one authority?
    God bless

There is only one communion in Orthodoxy. If you are outside of that communion, you are outside of the Church. There can be breaks of communication within the Church, and this happened in the early Church quite often, but they are healed with time. The EP and MP broke communion over Estonia in the 90’s and it was healed. Jerusalem and Antioch broke communion in the 2010’/ and it was healed. The EP and MP are still in communion with the same churches, and laity of one can still commune at the other. It will be healed
If by “one authority” you mean a single infallible bishop, that actually doesn’t solve the problem you think of. Roman Catholics actually bicker and argue over the meaning of not only the words of the Pope, but the very councils the Pope is supposed to interpret for them. Roman Catholics can not even agree on if any of the Pope’s encyclicals are ex cathedra or not. A Vatican 1 papacy doesn’t solve the problem of interpretation, it just moves the problem up one level

Thanks for following! Well, first off, there is only one Orthodox communion! (not many communions). Any canonical jurisdiction in general can receive communion anywhere (Antiochians, Greeks, Bulgarians, Romanians, Serbians Ukrainians, Russians, Orthodox Church of America, and any Orthodox person in good, canonical standing. I have American friends in Japan and they are having a wonderful experience of the Catholicity of the Orthodox Church. Obviously, things aren't perfect but these are the same issues you find in the First Millennium church, etc.). Secondly, when it comes to theological matters (doctrinal, moral, sacramental, liturgical), there is a great deal of unity because they all generally follow the same conciliar and canonical tradition of the Church which regulates much of this. In some areas of theology, Orthodox have actually defined more than the Roman Catholic tradition. In many areas of theology, Roman Catholics have defined more. In some of these areas, I believe Roman Catholicism has over-defined and fallen into theological error which is deeply problematic for the Faith. I understand that not everyone agrees =)
