They're both amazing animals, but tegus husbandry requirements are far easier to maintain than a caiman lizard. They're also much sturdier animals, as caiman lizards are very susceptible to bacteria.
I've never had the pleasure. I imagine these techniques could work, but I'd be extra careful if they're biters. The guys in this video are captive bred and were pretty tame the day I got them. I'd take extra safety precautions (heavy-duty gloves for instance) with any wild-caught animals. You'll also want to get them treated for parasites, diseases, etc.

I know from experience if you want to tame your tegu down really fast just smell like a lot of wood chips and they will crawll all over yoy
