- I really wish I stood and played this track, one should head bang and jive I feel :D! So much happening that its unbelievable one could compose and arrange such complex patterns within few hours.. Each musician had so much work every bar! Balu sir and Janaki amma weaved their magic yet again. Hope you like yet another Ilaiyaraaja gem - Vanithamani from the movie Vikram.

Very great piece of work.
In the interude piece from 2:44 to 3:00, the bass guitar and the lead guitar(?) were split across the RIGHT and LEFT stereo tracks in the original ECHO cassette. I discovered that by accident when one of the speakers didn't work one day.
After that, whenever I listen, I rewind the tape and swing the balance from LEFT to RIGHT.. and enjoy that.

That's the advantage with writing sheet music . The music grammar knowledge helps you + composers discipline + ofcourse Ilayaraja is a creative genius.
But you can't think and write every phrase of bassline then these kind of songs would take days if not months to compose but Raja usually completes them in hours.

@@krishnansridhar4927 rightly said, Bass was there since the beginning of his career but only in the early 80s the recording technology get better to capture the highlight the bass. Azghu Malar Ada and Megam Karukayile have awesome base but due to the recording quality of that time it is hard to hear.

Bass chords ...not many composers use it in prominence ...even when used by patronisers like raja sir it gets camouflaged ..in the overall orchestration....like a wicket keeper. ..only when not there ..can people feel the absence...but sensitive ears tuned to noticing this in the bgm orchestration always relish the effect it brings in ..
