As hilarious as this was, I love how real you can see it is. Like the instances where you can see even Cobus is surprised at what he's doing to this song. The beauty of the Quickly Covered Series.
The fill at 3:06 is actually my favourite. Maybe the most simple, but damn that was effective.
Yeah I would hope he would mix those in more, this is obviously a show of technique, but mixing in things that fit and complement the song are a part of drumming as well. Not saying he can't do it, but that is pleasurable to the ear and heart. This is more a drum highlight.

There is something that mesmerizing me in this video. Maybe it's the small variations you add in the grooves, the hi-hat licks, which turn out to be unexpected, and are thrilling. One of my favourite covers.
