- An Al Jazeera investigation has revealed evidence involving Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain in support of a failed attempt to invade Qatar in 1996.
The revelation comes 18 months after the three nations, along with Egypt, imposed a land, sea and air blockade on Qatar.
Paul Barril, a former French special operations officer, made this and other startling revelations in an interview with Al Jazeera.
Al Jazeera's Mohammed Adow reports.
