Cobra RAD 700i vs FHP Stalker 34.7 GHz Ka-band-Police Radar

- Our Cobra RAD 700i gives us an alert of about two miles to a Floida Highway Patrol cruiser operating a Stalker 34.7 Ka-band police radar unit.
At the outer alerting ranges, we suspected instant-on usage, however, it is possible it was just alerting to a weak constant-on radar transimission.
In addition to the Cobra RAD 700i alerting, we receive an Escort Live! Ka-band alert in the area.
Waze also reports the spotting of this stationery patrol.

Cobra stepped there game up for sure!
Boy that new Cobra isnt a slouch. This isnt your granddads Cobra. Not by a long shot.
In terms of radar. Indeed. BGtech (manufacture for Cedar) has definitely been producing better product. I suspect in response to Uniden’s Attowave, which has been killin’ it.
Love mine. Never let me down. Gets close to letting me down on approaching opposite driving Radars and when the officer is not on an even surface. But other than that it’s a great detector. I live in VA so it’s not RDD Immune but I have my ways of getting around that.
Good to hear.
I'm trying to buy a new detector today but I need some feedback please! What should I get between the Cobra Rad 700i, Uniden R3 or Radenso XP? If you could let me know asap that would really help me to make my decision . Thank you very much!
R3
@@RadarBusters appreciate it! I ended up going with the R4 which I didn’t originally think I was going to buy because of the cost but luckily I found it at Sam’s Club for $289! I couldn’t pass that up. I’m loving it so far. Keep up the great videos! They are a huge help
How is it on ka instant on?
Still evaluating…
Definitely looks like i10 either just west or east of Tallahassee Florida Leon county...
The GPS coords should tell the tale, but I believe this encounter was on I-75 south of Tampa.
That is why I don’t use a radar detector by itself regardless of it’s performance because it’s useless by itself if I can’t block police from getting my speeds🤷🏽♂️🤨🤨🤨
So basically when using a radar detector out there u gotta hide and dodge 🚔 from seeing your speeds knowing they can easily read your speeds at a half mile away or if 🚔 are using laser they can read your speeds even further.
Yea but you’re only more safe when traveling near or around others. Let’s say you out driving around at night and no other vehicles around but you and speed limit is 55mph
Regardless whether you can detect police for 6 miles away your detector is still useless against police using radar if they keep it turned off and wait until your near then cut their radar on at last minute your screwed
Either way if they’re using radar or LiDAR regardless you cannot block police from getting your speeds🤷🏽♂️
Cobra junk lol R8 all the way
This Cobra certainly isn't junk. You are being too harsh.
Bought a 700i second week of July and returned after only having it for 5 day's. Got me side eyed by state patrol because it isn't rdd immune and also got me followed by a sheriff completely out of the county, not to mention it wouldn't work on GPS lockouts and the app sucked and the alert distance was dismal at best. Picked up a uniden R8 and now I've gotten a few 1+ mile alerts.
