They could lower the amount of frames you are in the parry animation if necessary. No need to go back a whole other mechanic. In any case, Peach bounces on shield, so that's a terrible example.

He was first of his pool (beat M2K, Dabuz and Cosmos) and ran through an awfully hard losers bracket (Light, VoiD, Zackray, Dabuz). At the end, he only lost to the ones that ended up getting first and second place while giving both of them game 5 sets....
