@@dee_dee_place With all due respect to Katie Porter who I personally love and agree with politically, Whitmer is one of the few women governor's/senators/congresswomen who I genuinely think stands a chance of being president WITHOUT being hated in some way by sections of the population. Women tend to have a horrible time when the ascend to higher levels due to pre-conceived notions about them. There's also many people who do not associate femininity with powerful positions like the presidency. Whitmer is able to navigate this very convoluted path with such expertise, she is so charming that i know she'll be successful. The only other woman I can liken her to right now is Jacinda Ardern

He won't last four years in office and to replace him after the election would be fraudulent and undemocratic. I love Governor Whitmer.
She pulled out all the stops to keep Michiganders safe & alive during COVID-19, & didn't pause for one moment, even when her very life was threatened. She is an INVOLVED elected official who LISTENS & ACTS upon what her constituents tell her they need. Now that is what I call a true leader. I wish every elected official conducted the duties of their office the way she does.
We presently have a POTUS who does. They were there when we needed them, we owe it to them to do the same for them. Too bad Michigan has term limits.

Former Republican (now Independent) Michigander here. I must admit I was leery of Whitmer when she first ran for governor of our state. But she has done a fantastic job, and I believe that she could accomplish great things for American citizens if she were elected US President (not to mention restore some much needed dignity to the Oval Office).

Wow. I still remember hearing about Gov Whitmer's legit death threats in early 2020, and I'm very glad to see she's still doing well (VERY well, actually). This interview with Colbert expanded my appreciation for her, her values, her compassion for Michiganders, and (dare I say it), her hope for our future. Thank you, Gov Whitmer! I look forward to see your next steps after your mandatory term limitation in MI.

She 's an incredible person. Harris has tonnes of bravado, intelligence and experience but Whitmer has a sense of balance and strength that is important to decision making. I think she should be the next Secretary of State or Foreign Secretary in the next admin if the Dems win to gain International experience so she can really be a strong contender for a true POTUS win in 2028.
She has been traveling to foreign countries promoting Michigan to attract business opportunities (and, to be a strong contender for POTUS in 2028, imo.)
