The other reason your edge is getting mangled up is because the blade was not heat treated properly. When treated properly that steel is tough as hell. I thought SOG had a winner with that knife but I was wrong.
When the blade fires, it is free to bounce of the sides while coming out which is what causes it, nearly any steel would take damage/ wear over time imo. And yeah when I first got it I thought it was bad ass, but rip lol

even if the blade is rubbing, the blade steel is harder than the aluminum internals in there and we'll just wear down a channel, eliminating the problem. seems like a non-issue. you could also very easily go in there and use a file to just rub the point of contact for about 10 seconds and have fixed it.
The point of contact (small piece of metal "locking" the blade when deployed for near zero blade play) is the entire selling point of this pos knife though lol. Literally no one would buy this if it had the blade play of an infidel

I've had it on 1.75 * speed and just found myself going in to bump up the speed again, forgetting it was no longer at the normal setting. it still sounds slow, which means at 1x , this would be torture

that's a good rule. I have sold and Reebok probably 80 knives at this point. some of them three or four times.
blade might of been ground slightly too big might want to sharpen it see if it happens again

Metal Complex kinda explains why it does that. I guess if you want zero blade play,...sacrifices must be made.
