- M/V Aqua-Cultured is a 1989 44' DeFever Offshore Cruiser located in St. Petersburg, FL, and is pending sale.
The DeFever 44 has a displacement hull and is one of the most desired Trawler type vessels in her size class, and is the most popular model in the DeFever lineup. She is stabilized and is powered by the ultra-desirable and dependable Ford Lehman naturally aspirated 135hp diesel engines. You are not going to find a more spacious and well appointed flybridge, sundeck, salon, master stateroom, and engine room. Aqua-Cultured has been constantly upgraded by me, her current owner of 8 years. You can see all of the videos of this boat on my channel which show many of the projects I have completed onboard. She is super clean (most importantly does not smell like an old boat), capable, and truly ready to go. I just spent 4 months in the Florida Keys with her and completed the Florida Loop, and the boat performed wonderfully with no issues. She has updated air-conditioners throughout, new bimini tops, Stidd Helm Chair, rebuilt 12.5 kw Westerbeke Generator, 10' RIB, Active Fin Stabilizers, propshaft line cutters, new underwater lights, TECMA Freshwater Toilets, and a fresh bottom job. If you are looking to Live Aboard, cruise long term, do the Great Loop, or cruise to the Bahamas or Caribbean, M/V Aqua-Cultured will take you there! Reach out to me if you are an interested buyer and I can provide you with more information and schedule an appointment to view her.

I just came over from Brandon’s channel. I can’t wait to watch your vlogs.
Right on! Thanks for jumping aboard!
CONGRATS !!! You've done a wonderful job restoring/upgrading your boat. 😎👍 🇨🇦
What a great tour. No nonsense, just thoroughly professional. Love it.
Thank you so much for that nice compliment!
Butch, fantastic tour of your great boat. Better than 99% of the broker videos that I view. Was a bit surprised to see this come up in my feed as I've followed you for a bit and knew how well you cared for her. Never mind the haters. Good luck with your sale. Cheers, from Los Angeles.
Ron, that means so much! Thank you so much for your support!
Brandon sent me!❤

Awesome! Welcome aboard!
Love these classic Defevers. Clear to see she has been lovingly maintained by you.
Thank so much Carl! It’s hard not to love the DeFever lines
Capt. Butch I've seen your boat tours before they were good, this one is so so professional (credit to your wife)🤭 I can't wait to see your next boat.
Thank you Ronald!! My wife definitely deserves credit for this one!
Love the "up" galley with those two windows!!!!! Lots of storage and the two fridges with the buffet area. Very functional. Large salon and appreciate the curved ceiling in the trawler. Very clean engine room. You've done an outstanding job on caring for this vessel. Should sell very quickly. And, as a side note, you should be a yacht salesmen. Really good video.
Thank you so much for that wonderful comment! It is such a great layout, and I have enjoyed it dearly! I might take you up on the yacht salesman suggestion 😉
Great tour video Butch. Props to your first mate's video skills. Was surprised to see you wanting to part with her. Great vessel in top condition. Best of luck with the sale and look forward to see whats next.
Thank you so much Doug, it’s so great to hear from you. Hope you are doing well my friend!
@@AquaCultured im relearning to walk again. Hoping to ride my Harley sometime this summer lol.
Great tour of a beautiful boat. I really like what you have done with her.
Thank you Jennifer!
Little but comes across BIG! Very beautiful thank you
You bet! Thank you so much!
Amazing boat! Can't believe that huge engine room. The engine room on my 36' GB is "crawl around" at best.
Thanks Tim. It is crazy how big of an engine room it is on an under 50’ boat.
Really like this boat, seems to have every thing I am looking for.
It really is hard to beat! Thank you Rodney
@@AquaCultured how much and where is she located

Amazing! Thank you for sharing this video. She is magnificent. Greetings from Madang, Papua New Guinea!
Wow, thanks so much for the nice comment! So great to hear from folks from around the globe!
Someone is going to get a great boat! Can’t wait to see your next one.
They certainly are, she’s a special vessel no doubt! Thank you so much, I can’t wait for the next vessel!
Huge living space for a 44 footer!!!
About as big as it gets!
Great tour
Thank you so much Brian!
For someone to post that the boat is over priced without actually seeing the boat is out of line. If all the boat’s systems are in good working order and if the canvas, teak, paint/gelcoat and interior is in good condition the boat appears to be priced very realistically. I think a more accurate statement from the wannabe’s would be they wish the boat was cheaper because they can not afford a boat in this price range. I am welling to bet that a person that would say something like that is probably one of those dock walking ducks that wastes their time dreaming of finding a boat that does not require any physical or financial effort to maintain. Good luck with that fantasy. ( please keep on walking by while I am out washing and working on my boat in this 95 degree weather)
Greg, you hit the nail so square on the head! Thank you for that spot on comment!
@@AquaCultured It’s obvious I’ve gotten grumpy in my old age. At least I didn’t tell them that driving their brother in law’s pontoon boat when he is too drunk to do so, does not make them any type of boat expert. 🥴
Butch Great tour of Aqua-Cultured and she looks outstanding. I have watched your videos over the years and know you are VERY meticulous on everything onboard. You never take short cuts and do everything in the proper manner ( AC unit, Generator rebuild ) and it really shows as Aqua-Cultured is spic & span clean. I did note the epirb unit mounted topside LOL Don't be bothered by the rude comments as there are trolls everywhere, you will sell the boat and move to your next adventure. Congratulations on getting married and I wish you both happiness.
Richard, that really means a lot! Thank you so much for the kind words and support. Lol yeah that EPIRB! It’s always funny to see the experts (trolls) chiming in. Thanks again, more to come!
Looking good Butch . long time fan of your work. Love to have her. Seattle is a long haul to bring her around.😎😎👍👍🚢🚢🇺🇸🇺🇸
Ken, thank you so very much for your long time support! No problem, I will deliver her to you! 😆
Excellent overview!
Really appreciate that Larry!
Great boat!
Our son is a firefighter in Mad Beach!
That’s awesome! They drive a nice rig!
Beautiful vessel!
Thank you Scott! I do adore her
Nice boat.
Thanks Paul!
I've been following your adventures on AQUA-CULTURED for years and wunnerin' if you're gonna be land-based.
Thank you so very much for tuning in all these years, I really appreciate you. I will be land based for a bit but am managing multiple vessels, so I will still be very connected to boatlife. And the plan is to get another boat in the near future
@@AquaCultured 'AquaCultured is my dream however I have an 'anchor' in the person of a Rodgers Classic Concert Organ, consuming most of my Living Room, which is keeping me from selling my house keeping me 'land bound'. Whoever is the next caretaker is one lucky person.
which boat do you have in mind as your next boat?
We don’t have something in particular yet, we have a list of criteria we want the next one to meet. For starters, we are looking for something larger and with more staterooms! Stay tuned, thanks for watching!
I've followed you for a while and know this boat is your baby and very well cared for. Definitely interested in purchasing, email sent.
That you for being such a supportive follower. Looking forward to discussing your interest in the vessel
WHY nearly every yacht (if not all) has lots of places for booze? OK as an army guy thats cool, but are all navy types boozers too?
I think it has to do with being able to calm your nerves after a harrowing day at sea
One of my favorite boats. Are you getting another boat or going to shore?
The plan is to get another (larger) boat. May be land based in the interim
I love Defever and i hate their prices. Always costing 35%+ above others in same category.
You done with the boat life, or buying something else?
Not done, just positioning to upgrade!
Backing up into a slip? How fat are we if we need to back up into a slip? JUST KIDDING! (wow tough room!)
😂
Those motors will need rebuild at 12-15k hours not 15-20k hours you said at least not if you ever want to rebuild them rebuild at 12-15k hours insures the ability to continue to be able to rebuild them in the future yes they can go that far 15-20k hours but usually isn't much left of it that's rebuild able the blocks will wear an fail that's usually what takes them out that and people adding additional crankcase ventilation holes in the cast block that will require block replacement ie; complete new motor but yes they are great engines an can last a 100years of service when looked after properly ya got a nice boat sad I don't have the cash to releave of it but best of luck to all I'll get there one day
You make a good point, thanks for the comment. Bottom line, they are awesome engines that are workhorses for sure. Much appreciated Clarence!
Did I miss it? Bow thrusters?
No bow thruster, just twin screw control
For the record, I think you have a Great boat, and those guys are a couple of idiots. Have a great day ‼️ 😊
Thank you so much Steve! Couldn’t agree with you more
Have you sold this yet?
Not yet!
Does the helmsman
have a seat?
Are you talking about second seat up on the flybridge, or a seat down at the lower helm. At the lower helm, there is no seat at the wheel. Up on the flybridge there is the Stidd Helm Chair at the wheel, and bench seats on each side
@@AquaCultured
Thank you.
Nice boat but you must be smoking some crack for asking 195K for that old 44 foot boat.
Thanks, and no crack sir!
"We have"
You must have an official
pricing. Note the price is
way too much. The boat
nice but old for the price.
$139k
Most of these boat sell for $75 to $100k in good shape. With that water stains on the teak I would thing closer to $75
Defever 44s run for twice that. My parents bought a 2000 44 OC in 2019 for $230k and it has only gone up in value.
Incorrect. And the boat did sell for what I wanted. Thanks for watching
Wait? What? Selling your baby?
I know! Who would have thought the day was going to come. Hope you guys are doing well on the sister ship!
OVER PRICED !!!! To much Teak work and other issues for a 35 year old DeFever. We are active buyers and this pricing should be $149m range
Asking and getting are two different things ..when does anyone ever ask for what they want or should you always ask for more
And have room to move ???
Instead of a rude comment, submit your lowball offer.
Move along, little doggie. Don't hate on the boat because you're too lazy to keep up with it. Even new boats need work, so if you just want to get on the boat and go ... Take a Cruise ... lol 😆
Active clowns is more like it.
Just wanted to chime in and mention that the boat sold and I got what I wanted from an ideal buyer. Best of luck on finding the right boat for you
