Bring one of these and you can have a rave party anywhere, these things were also lit af with neons, imagine that being modernized with LEDs without having weight problems. Proper show cars are cool and can be used as party bombs. I'm not a fanboy, just getting nostalgic. If you think about it, it's not that bad. Now we have camber "stancelife", "hellaflush" idiots, that just makes the car horrible to drive and potentially dangerous in high speeds.

Walking around AutoSalon where groups of people would start on paying viewers for standing too close to their show car even though you were still 10ft away, or staring at it for too long, or for looking at a car model and talking to her because her boyfriend is one of the group. That's what killed sex spec quick, the attitudes of the owners at the time were holier than thou and superiority complexes were everywhere. Some great cars from that era for me were the WAS-55P Excel, the 2DAI4 Charade, the Droid cars, GRLPWR Charade, all top quality cars with great people owning them. 👍

I would suggest changing the timing belt since it's been sitting in a shed for 6 years it can't really be that good anymore and you don't know how many miles that's on it. it's not very good if it would snap

Moog, if you use the "T" stopper on your radiator ez-fill funnel as a stir stick the coolant will cling to the edges while the air comes out the middle to fill your radiator faster. the heater matrix (or heater core as they are called here) will always have coolant cycling through it, unless you have a shutoff valve (like toyotas do) to block it off when you slide your heater knob to cold. turning the fan on wont affect anything whatsoever. you want to get it up to temp so the thermostat opens, so that you flush out the coolant that is in the engine block. the heater core and engine are on the same 'circuit', and thats why you get heat from your heater as soon as your engine starts to warm up. the thermostat is just there to open and flow coolant through the radiator once its up to temp, to help maintain the temperature. if you remove the thermostat, your engine will take forever to get up to temp, because the radiator is constantly cooling it. if you block off your thermostat (or have a failed shut one), your engine will overheat because it cant replace the hot coolant in the engine with cooler coolant from the radiator. love the series guys!
Aaron Huddy if you’re working on gas/brake lines you should always have a rag close, its basic. They both ruin paint and plastic not to mention its a fucking FIRE HAZARD

Anyone else come to realize that mighty car mods isn't really mighty car mods anymore? I feel like im not learning anything anymore, things used to be about showing you how to do things and showing how to do mods or interesting things to your car, i still enjoy the show but it has definitely changed.
You can only do basic driveway mods so many times. They still go into detail when said mods present a unique challenge or situation, but for the most part the MCM back catalog covers a lot of ground that doesn't really need to be covered over and over. Though I do hope that it comes up when people are looking for tutorials on how to do those sorts of things. That said, what they're teaching now is more along the lines of what sort of work goes into certain more ambitious projects such as the Mira. Not a "how to" but more "Here's what to consider before deciding you want to do X". They're not professional mechanics, so they don't, and shouldn't, go into the sort of detail that you get on shows like the Skid Factory, but I think it's still a good resource for demonstrating the sort of "next steps" people might be interested in when they've done the basics and are ready for the next levels of upgrade in terms of what options are out there, and informing people of the amount of work it takes which might be better left to professionals..

Never pre-mix coolant. There is a substantial amount of water left in the system that will dilute the mix further. Look up manual for coolant capacity, work out the amount for the correct ratio, usually 50%, add concentrate to the system direct and top up with deionised water. This will guarantee the correct final concentration.

Water is the coolant. You're adding antifreeze. Not sure why you'd need it in Australia but it doesn't help the water cool the engine, just prevents freezing.

One more suggestion...seems as though even after you got it running then turned it off and attempted restart, it sounded as if it was getting no fuel. All of a sudden it hit and fired. I recommend you install an external fuel pressure gauge and see if the fuel pressure is staying up to spec when the ignition is Key/Off - Eng/Off. Twisted has the #1 symptom for fuel pressure leak, even though the injectors are new. I've seen it hundreds of times in both gas and diesel injection.

Never pre-mix coolant. There is a substantial amount of water left in the system that will dilute the mix further.
Look up manual for coolant capacity, work out the amount for the correct ratio, usually 50%, add concentrate to the system direct and top up with deionised water.
This will guarantee the correct final concentration.

The wheels spinning is normal when both wheels are off the ground, it's not in gear, it's just drag.

Water is the coolant. You're adding antifreeze. Not sure why you'd need it in Australia but it doesn't help the water cool the engine, just prevents freezing.

One more suggestion...seems as though even after you got it running then turned it off and attempted restart, it sounded as if it was getting no fuel. All of a sudden it hit and fired. I recommend you install an external fuel pressure gauge and see if the fuel pressure is staying up to spec when the ignition is Key/Off - Eng/Off. Twisted has the #1 symptom for fuel pressure leak, even though the injectors are new. I've seen it hundreds of times in both gas and diesel injection.
