Although I have been a DT hardcore fan since 1993 , I came to know the prog report channel more recently . I really respect and appreciate your work , plus the fact that you engage in the comments section frequently is really nice . To me , the DT show in London was 10/10 ! Keep up the good work.
I was there, very close to the front and I will say one thing. The videos recorded in the crowd sound nothing like how LaBrie sounded in person. He was absolutely phenomenal in person, I could hardly believe it.
James had some rough moments, but bands are made up of more than just employees. He IS THE VOICE of Dream Theater. Really looking forward to seeing Dream Theater twice in 2025
For me, I've always thought James LaBrie didn't sound good when shrieking at the top of his range, with his diction poor. However, in his mid and lower range his voice is beautiful. The online haters are staggering. Give him a chance to acclimatise and get into the tour groove.
Doesn’t matter if it’s 2004 or 2024. Everyone always bitches about Labrie. Guy is a cornerstone of the band-not only as a vocalist, but as a frontman. He still has the crowd in the palm in his hand, acting almost like a shaman guiding everyone through the instrumental goodness of the performance. Loved the crowd reaction when he came out during the Metropolis opening. Also, DT wouldn’t be DT without this toxic fanbase. I’m here for the ride.
You mix feelings with critical thinking. Just because you "love it" does not mean that the quality is there, and whatever they do is good. Some people love to eat MacDonalds food, but that does not mean that MacDonalds food has any quality when it comes to nutrition. You know what I mean? Fanboy mentality does not help, at all... Hey, I still prefer Mangini on drums, and I would love to see Dream Theater with a more rocker, bluesy, soulful vocalist. Ever heard Russel Allen or Jorn Lande? But anyway, even though I prefer Mangini, I think that DT is indeed DT with Portnoy. Both are two of my favorite drummers. DT are still in the top of their game, minus the vocalist. Don't get me wrong, Labrie is a great vocalist, but for a metal band, I think other options would be more proper, to say the least! Anyway, DT have such a great legacy in music, and that should be appreciate it. Petrucci is indeed one of the best in the Prog Metal world, which is his "comfortable zone", amazing for sure, as a guitarist and as a song writer in the respective style; but not the same quality playing blues, jazz, flamenco, and other styles of music. Every rooster on its branch. Petrucci is one my favorites, though. And he seems a cool guy, too.
Saw them in Berlin yesterday! Insane performance from the whole band. Extra love for James who was on fire that night.
Good to hear!
No one talks about James' insane scream in Octivarium. I didn't expect him to even attempt the “trapped inside this” section
He smashed it!
wow! would love to hear
@@lopa-u9f it's on UA-cam. He nailed that specific vocal part. Just look it up.

Thanks for checking the channel out.
I absolutely agree with you. I was there as well and just loved the whole experience!
Thanks!

Indeed
Looks like the setlist isn't changing.
Not yet anyway.
would be cool if you linked the setlist guest video so we can go back and look (I forget what I typed)

Train of Thought is 2nd best DT album after SFAM
Isnt Wembley arena around 10 to 12,000..not sure why they did the o2 which is 20,000,unless they thought they would get over the arena attendance

Nah. Those guys are great. But LaBrie has always been the best voice for this band.
LaBrie should just retire. you either die a hero or live long enough to become the villain
He's still a hero
Does NOT sing for 3 hrs, c'mon. He uses his voice for less than 80 mins. Just sayin'.
Lol ok
And a band playing for 60 mins sings for… 20 mins? I was wondering why they are playing in an arena when they have “theater” in the name.
