    When did beans boiled to death become "refried" beans? Refried use to mean cooked and then REFRIED in fat (usually bacon fat). Most restaurants here in southern New Mexico do the same thing - boil until it's mush.

    • @tjcondones
      @tjcondones 3 роки тому +3

      I think the beans were drained so they were cooked already then fried

    • @ruprect1

      Refried beans are made from scratch, not from a can. Also, they're refried in manteca/lard. He made pureed ranch bean slop.

      @@josephrusso9701 Obviously that's not ideal, but raw bacon - or just severely undercooked bacon - is very unlikely to cause any health issues.

      Bacon wrapping other meats is usually a waste of bacon. Prawns may be the only exception, but even then, that bacon could be put to better use.

      He hardly ever uses the smoker maybe because it's time consuming 🤷‍♂️

      Small and thin meats tend to cook quickly, even if the smoker is set to ~200°F. This no time for smoke to really penetrate the muscle fibers.
      The smallest thing I smoke is a whole chicken. The smoker is great if you want to roast a chicken but not use the oven. I call it an “outdoor oven”.
