Indeed, it is a well made install. I would have preferred to have the machine still in the motor room but it work fine like this. The staircase is really neat. Sadly I haven't seen the original lift that was installed here, would have been interesting to know.

Good leveling for Lisa, kleemann could never set Lisa20 or Genius20 up that well (or at least here in Australia) Also, is it true Lisa20 has one of the fastest lift controller boot up times?
What drives do you use in Australia? Here in the German speaking part of the world, we use standardized bus protocols for communication between the controller and the drive when using generic parts. Nowadays either DCP 4 or CANopen lift (CiA 417). If both the drive and controller support this, perfect levelling is always possible. It's just a question of setting it up correctly. No breaking distances have to be programmed in the controller, as it just signals the drive to travel some amount of mm in up or down direction. The drive then handles the acceleration and deceleration on its own. Of course, things like sheave diameter and gearbox ratio must be set correctly in order for this to work. I'm not fully sure about the boot time as it's been a while. I thought it was pretty fast though.
That motor is so small, not like Otis Gen2 or 5500, but still very small for a freight elevator carrying 2.52tons at 1.0 m/s but if you had a motor room, you could just have placed it in there also, near the controller, and make it easier ti maintenance by the fact it is near the controller, and it is in a motor room, so no need to be on the top if the cab risking yourself. Don't get me wrong, it's a great lift, and things like this make them unique. Also, per my knowledge, geared lifts better suit this. So why did they use geared lifts? Love your videos
The SM250 is the largest size of ZAtop machine and it not small at all. However, this is the subvariant 60B and there is also an 80D and a 100C, which are still somewhat bigger. It may look not so big in the video but trust me, it is quite a unit. Having it in the motor room would have been more maintenance friendly indeed, but installing in the shaft head was probably cheaper as otherwise new holes would have to be drilled into the motor room floor. I would not say that there is a better solution geared / gearless for most standard applications. I myself prefer gearless for most things as it's more efficient. What can be said of course is that above 2.5m/s, only gealess machines can be used. Also for very slow speeds with very high torque, geared machines make more sense. But here we have a lift in 2:1 configuration and these big ZAtop machines can support a very large radial load. So it is a very well suited machine for the application.
You are right as it would sure have been cheaper to install it in the shaft. I personally also do prefer gear-less machines (I am not biased by you). But I thought here more torque must have been necessary. Also if they are spending 2-5K$ on a lift the manufacture will only choose the best motor for the job. What are the differences between ZAdisc and ZAtop in terms of lifespan and performance? For example, ZAdisc SL510 vs ZAtop SM132/B, which can be considered two equivalents.
I have not really encountered ZAdiscs, they're very rare in my region. As long as the spacial requirements allow it, I would generally opt for the ZAtop. I have never seen one of them being replaced due to failure, the oldest ones I know of now being in service for 15 years.
5:23 wenn man die Erlaubnis hat darf man auch einfach so im Aufzugsschacht aufhalten? z.B. auf Handy zocken wenn man Internet hat dort kannst du auch die Fahrt genießen (Natürlich muss ich etwas drauf achten ich möchte eingewiesen werden)
Oder auch Inspektion einschalten und eine Runde Fahrt machen Aber ich frag mich erst wenn ich Inspektion einschalten will nachdem ich eine Runde die Fahrt gemacht habe ich möchte erst wissen ob der Aufzug sonst außer betrieb setzt wen ich Inspektion ausschalte ich möchte etwas über Aufzug wissen und lernen und alles was da gibt muss ich drauf achten

Ich mag die alten LiSAs nicht, also 7 und 10. LiSA 20 und 21 find ich eigentlich ganz gut, gerade mit dem neuen Handterminal sehr komfortabel.
