John Pfumojena & Meet My Ancestors.

A riveting evening event exploring the spiritual ancestry of Greater Zimbabwe past and present with John Pfumojena, Visiting Fellow at TORCH - The Oxford Research Centre in the Humanities.
This unique event began with a rousing performance of music and song on the mbira and marimba. Contemporary Zimbabwean music that spoke to the spiritual practice of invoking the ancestors, John was accompanied by Tawanda Mapanda, on the marimba and both are collectively - MEET MY ANCESTORS. The performance took place within the cabinets of the museum collection, bringing the living contemporary music into confrontational conversation with the museum artefacts.
