Broseph! I LOVE THIS! You are a man of the future going as wireless as possible! Who wants to wrap and unwrap cables to set up and take down? Lunatics! That’s who!!! 🤘🏼😎🤘🏼
Oh I have been trying to find something this for days!! Thank you so much, from one anti-cable guy to another. Another plus is that your iPad has less chance of being dragged to the floor by some Klutz tripping over the cable!
I recently came across your page and I’m so glad I did. I’ve been fixating on creating my own backing tracks and running them. Watching your videos have helped me create those and made it seem sooooo easy!! Thanks for all the work you do and for sharing it!
Always great videos! I do something similar with Alto BT2 to Bluetooth audio to the mixer. Buy one, it's summed to mono, buy a pair, it's stereo. Removes all the need for adapters and short cables, and also means your source (iPad etc) is free of attachments.
Oh cool!! Thanks for sharing that. The Bluetooth works fine for you? You won’t have to worry about latency because everything will sync to whatever goes into your mixer. That’s pretty sweet! I might have to pick up a pair of those
Connection has been fine but I'd keep a backup plan in a bag just in case. Latency not an issue because it's for clicks, backing or playback - everything else syncs to the Bluetooth audio. You could also put them straight into your EV speakers to bypass the mixer. They charge on USB. No fancy case though.
My concern with going wireless for the backing tracks is the real possibility of the signal dropping out in the middle of a song. I like the idea of getting rid of cables or minimizing cables as much as possible, but I'm just not very confident in the reliability of the wireless devices yet. I'm glad to hear that you have been using it as much as you do and are having great results. It reassures me that it can be reliable and I may give it a try.
Yup I agree for sure, it wouldn’t be good if it drops out during a song. Especially since this one is cheaper. But testing it at soundcheck and keeping clear line of sight and not a huge distance, it’s worked well!
Interesting solution for sure. I got a cheap Bluetooth adapter off Amazon and just Bluetooth from the iPad to it into my mixer. Has actually been rock solid.
That’s good! My Bluetooth solution I tried about 5 years ago was a disaster. I need to see if you can get stereo out from Bluetooth into a mixer so click and tracks are separated
Thank you for your hard work explaining this wireless system! I love the wireless systems too. I have guitar connected to pedal board and pedal board connected to my amp. I am happy to learn that you use pre-recprded tracks with live shows. I have been thining about doing that with my Duo ( my wife and I call ourselves Wild’n’Mild ) thanks again. Keep Rocking, Scott!
Bought the NUX wireless in-ear system after watching your review. Ordered it of of Amazon in the US (live in Spain) and received in 4 days. Unfortunately after using it a week the on/off buton in the transmitter broke. The purchase was neatly refunded so kudos to the seller, but then found out the product is hardly available in Europe. Managed to order one set for a friend but when I re-ordered for myself it was out of stock. That was 4 weeks ago. Still not available and I really liked it. Have a standing order but still waiting…
Since watching this video I tried it with Nux 5.8 guitar system since I don't have the iem one and it actually works. I used the adapter for iphone along with a 1/8th inch adapter for the Nux transmitter.
@ in my use case as a one man band I don't use it with a click track. I solely use the backing track and hearing general mix clearly with my iem. It may be possible with the right adapters but I can't say for certain.
Hey Scott nice video! Btw, as you are a Logic Pro for Mac user, I wonder, will you review the new version for iPad? I was considering buying the subscription as an alternative for my desktop option and a portable tool for working out of my place.
I kinda stopped doing Logic videos since they by far did the worst on my channel. I’m curious on the iPad version as well. I would need a mouse and keyboard is my guess. It would be weird to do all of that with a touch screen
I also like to make everything wireless, and have this nux. But I used the 2.4ghz monitoring system from m vave (way cheaper) and found the sound quality to be better in m-vave. The nux one have a white noise very perceptible when I play distortion. Anyway, it is a very good solution and I use daily in my home (speakers are far from audio interface)
I’ve used the Lekato stereo transmitter for backing tracks off an iPad and it worked great! Of course I made sure that was the only 2.5ghz I was using. 😂 The only slight problem I’ve run into (which turned out not to be the fault of the Lekato) was there was the slightest bleed of click running into the backing track. I checked my backing tracks to make sure I didn’t master them weird and listened through an interface to make sure the tracks were separated correctly when routed into different outputs, which they did with no bleed in the tracks channel. Going back to the iPad, I checked through multiple stereo break out cables as well as wired headphones and the bleed was there, but not when listening through wireless Bluetooth AirPods. When researching this on some forums, I saw some people saying that some older iPad and MacBook headphone-out jacks can have a little bit of cross talk between channels, which is lame. My iPad is a 2017 which doesn’t seem that old but I guess it is 😜 What was strange is, I never heard the track bleed into the click channel only click into the tracks channel. I ended up using a really low noise gate on the tracks channel on my mixer as it could only be heard barley when the track was on a part that was silence, so that was a quick fix that worked for the show. In the future I might end up using my HX Stomp as an interface to route those iPad channels through the lightning port and Stage Traxx into output 3/4 and use the Lekato to output through the HX Stomp send. Even though it really wasn’t noticeable in the end to the audience, it totally bothered me and I don’t want to have to put a noise gate on the track 😂 Any one else run into this problem?
Yeah some people say there is some small cross talk with iPads. It barely barely there, so it’s not noticeable live when I do it. But glad to see someone else is doing this!
@@ScottUhlMusic What is funny is I was mainly going to do it as a sound check solution. When playing with my smaller band, It’s usually a small bar type show with no sound person and a really crappy mixer, so I just plug my own mixer setup in and do it that way. So I got multiple wireless units just for myself so I can sound check in the audience while still running tracks, playing bass and doing some backup singing with the intention of hardwiring everything in for the actual show. Once I went to hardwire the iPad back into the mixer after soundcheck though, I realized the stereo breakout cable wasn’t long enough to reach the iPad where I needed it to be on stage. 😂 So, I just ended up keeping the wireless in for that and it worked great!
@@ScottUhlMusic I remember in a previous video you saying that it wasn’t true stereo and when I was using it and got the bleed I figured that’s what you were talking about. Turns out the bleed was a different problem altogether 😂.
Hey Scott, Great ideas and video. FWIW... I've been running our backing tracks wirelessly from an iPad using a Klark Technik DW 20BR stereo Bluetooth receiver to my Behringer x18 mixer and it works great. It has both unbalanced (2) 1/4" and balanced (2) XLR output jacks.
Amazing… I was just thinking about this concept yesterday, Scott. I have the NUX system that you're talking about, after seeing your original video on it. The one thing I was wondering was about keeping the receiver away from any 5.8 GHz routers, since that's recommended with the transmitter. Did you get a chance to test that?
Have you tried this with a guitar that has stereo output? I recently obtained an Emerald guitar but my NUX C-5RC cannot send/detect the Ghost piezo on that instrument. Sends the magnetic pickups (hum-buckers just fine), but nothing on the piezo side. It also has 13-pin MIDI output, so if there's a way to all of that wirelessly, that would be super cool. Not essential, but I too am a little obsessed with having no wires to step on.
Haha yeah you saw it happen! That’s why I went over to the hi hat stand. It was pretty bizarre. I have it charging now as well as not mounted to anything where it can get unplugged and it’s working well

I use a BT receiver at my mixer's end, and connect to the cell phone (Samsung S20) I use to deliver the backing tracks, through Setlist Helper. I also connect to the S20 a BT pedal to manage the lyrics. Haven't had an issue yet apart from the Bat units themselves failing. But connectivity wise, not a problem. Been doing it this way for more than 2 years.
@@ScottUhlMusic I send the FOH backing tracks mix mono through the right channel. And the click and voice cues on the left, disconnected (unchecked) from the LR FOH mix.
Brilliant as usual. If you weren’t using this, would your splitter cable be connected to the iPad on your mic stand? Love your wireless strategy and want to incorporate it as much as possible.
Hi, bro!! Thanks for everything!! And what happens if I connect the receiver direct to the channel without splitting? I know it'll be mono, but just one side, or left and right together? Thanks!!
Would this work for dual guitar signals (using a y cable to it from both jacks on a PRS hollowbody piezo) so I don’t have to have 2 wireless jacks plugged in?
I want to ask whether the NUX B7PSM can be used on a guitar as a wireless system???? and is the quality the same as the NUX C5RC when used with a guitar instrument? Or are there any differences between the two types?
