The power this show has in changing the course of someone's life is unbelievable. Imagine the wife of Adv. Teffo Maselela came with a compelling case for his mistreatment. How will this affect his judgement.😢
There's a whole lot of mathematics used in fields people don't know about. It is not useless. I use maths for my job to calculate what I don't know with what I know. If it is not relevant to what people do, it doesn't mean it is useless. Even the labeling of a locust in high school, as much as I wasn't interested in that, someone is now an entomologist from that.
The problem with education is people thinking it’s in an institution, there are some fields that need you to study there, actually, only STEM fields , (and a lot of them now only require you to get a certification proving you have the relevant skills, especially big tech jobs) , and Law, everything else, education is everywhere.
Some things are institutionalized because they need to be standardized. I do not want a doctor who learnt surgery “at a friends house” to EVER operate on me. There has to be regulation for the safety of people, for maintaining a standard, and ensuring every doctor is truly qualified to the right level before they operate on a human. Life is not a joke. The same for a pilot, I don’t want anyone flying a commercial plane who learnt flying as a hobby from their dad. They can fly themselves if they want, but if you’re carrying 400 people in the air plus cargo, I need to know you have a formal certificate from a certified institution before you get hired by Lufthansa or KLM. Just because upodcasting is unprofessional, doesn’t mean every aspect of life we just accept university drop outs. No, they must be certified.
@@mysisterisafoodiedid you read what I said, I said STEM fields need school mostly, even though some now only require certification and not degrees because they value skills and you can learn those just by training and actually doing the word, not 4 years of theory and paper. Education is everywhere, and there are many stupid “educated” people out in the world. You’d call gender studies a real thing, useless degree among many others.
@@seektruth5750no, not only stem studies need degrees. Perhaps the difference should be in distinguishing between research degrees, professional degrees and vocational degrees. Certifications are good for everyone. Even I would like to know that my mechanic went to some school if some sort. Not that the only option is I either have to take my car to BMW to get fixed, or chance it with the local guy, why isn’t there more respect for vocational education like get a certificate in fixing cars, so at least I know you’re not messing with my car and you know what you’re doing. Or the lady at the reception at the office. She doesn’t need a bachelors degree, but she can go to a vocational school to learn office management so she can be professional at what she does. It’s not just STEM that need education. Also a chef, a carpenter, a sales employee can all get vocational degrees. A manager, a teacher, or a comms worker can get a professional degree. And a researcher, a biologist, an avionics engineer can get research degrees. Not only people in STEM need standardized skills and education for them.

@nyamekancapayi Don't know but they definitely earn well and deserve more it's just an opinion not factuated but they deserve shares like mag said🤣😂when negotiating in indusetry
The salary issue is one of the most difficult systems you will ever touch on and that will never get fixed, employers are so arrogant they’d rather close shop than pay people fairly. If you remove the “confidentiality” nonsense then you get to fix the salaries issue, but that won’t happen obviously.
Come to think about it, the salary of R2800 per month makes sense. 3 hrs show x 4 weekends = 12hrs/month, therefore R2800 per month / 12hrs/month = R233.33/hr, therefore R233.33 x 160 hrs (40hrs/week for 4 weeks) = R37 332,8 per month eq. R447 993,6 per year. Which means R2800 per month for 3hrs per week make 100% sense
Same in soccer, they promote youngsters to senior team from a development contract to professional contract which will amount to a 100% increase just like Sol was saying e.g From 7k to 30k, still 30k is still low.
Mac is out of order. Formal education is and always will be necessary. Does he want to be operated on by a doctor who didn’t go to school? Next time his wife needs CS she must go to the neighbor to do it? Does he want to fly in a plane that was built by a local mechanic? Does he want to drive on a bridge that was engineered by a high school drop out? He would trust going up a lift in a skyscraper that was constructed by amatsotsi? When his kids go to school, to be taught language and science, he wants them to be educated by UA-cam videos or he wants an actual board certified teacher to teach his kids? These are foolish things surely, the need for formal education to teach certain skills, is SO important. Just because doing a podcast doesn’t need university, doesn’t mean university is useless.
No, school is a place, education is everywhere, the problem is people thinking school is synonymous with education, it’s not or shouldn’t be, especially today where you constantly need to upgrade your skills and knowledge
Fact checker is speaking from a point of the country's economy (SA), not the Education itself. Education is very vital in our lives and the application of mathematics and physics can be seen everywhere in the world!

Some real chats there Sol. 💯 I used to love Mark Boucher for example. Played as a wicket keeper all of my schooling career because of him. I remember from the world cup we hosted, we would always make sure that we are present for all Proteas appearances in Potchefstroom only to later on find out that there might be a whole lot of racism we were unaware of in the team. When you drive for the first time your foot will always shake or vibrate on the clutch. The car will stall on that steep hill. This boy will be fine, it was nerves more than anything.

The problem with education is people thinking it’s in an institution, there are some fields that need you to study there, actually, only STEM fields , (and a lot of them now only require you to get a certification proving you have the relevant skills, especially big tech jobs) , and Law, everything else, education is everywhere.
Very powerful 👏
There are things that you can teach yourself , some of the things are not learned at school but self taught 😊
Thank you for bringing up the Adv Teffo issue, Ghost Lady.

Ghost lady “ let him cook” 👩🏽🍳 😂😂😂
That sent me ..
you can tell she’s been waiting to say that 😂😂
Sol is so smart.
Education and school, are two different things.
Which means R2800 per month for 3hrs per week make 100% sense
it does, people just went on the vibes train and ddnt do the calculations...
Kodwa he said he's just asking😮
🙉🙉
School will always be important. You can never get rid of it. Perhaps Mac wanted to ask about homeschooling.
I've been insulted and punched in the face by a white lady at work last month. Fast forward the incident went to HR. In my mind I thought because there's a footage of the whole thing the results will come back positive and boy I was so wrong. You can imagine my shock to that. Moral of the story, racism is still alive and thriving in our country. To anyone who went through such experience, I salute you. Great show guys.
So u did not wear a mask and fuck her up at her home and leave her crippled!😅
I really want to see what ghost lady looks like . I love her insights on topics
Nowadays Truck drivers are earning more than police..
They always earned more.
truck drivers are working overtime bro
You put in more hours, sacrifice your life, you get paid more... And what is the requirement for drivers these days? Grade 12 with a license? Go to school guys
Education liberates your mind..without education that you have in your mind you were not going to think the way you think .
Thanks Mac we have grandjo on the shelf in Nelspruit 🎉 I bought one at the moment it's dope Man.
Only a few people get Usher(ed) to the other room ... Sol be dropping puns without even knowing 🔥🔥
Diddy also hosted Black Coffee at his house yaz
