Hey guys!! Here's the original Spider-man (2002) starring Tobey McGuire!! I grew up with this movie and haven't watched it in sooooo long so it was such a treat. Growing up with it along with the amount of memes surrounding it (I'm a bit annoying in the beginning but I PROMISE IT CHILLS OUT SO SORRY ABOUT THAT LOL) makes it that much more enjoyable|
And now that I'm watching it as an adult it gives me a new perspective and do I have some OPINIONS about it... you'll see at the end hehe.
But I do love this movie, and Tobey will always be my favorite Spider-Man ❤

If you like the Sam Raimi Spider-Man trilogy, I HIGHLY recommend his Evil Dead movies. They were the films that made him breakout in Hollywood. They’re a mix of funny and scary, just like the Spiderman films (Evil Dead’s Star Bruce Campbell actually cameos in each Spidey film)

When Peter walks away from Mary Jane, it's not heartless. It's heartful. It's a recurring theme with superheroes. Would you really want to put someone you're in love with in jeapordy? I wouldn't. That scene still makes me a little emotional.

Yeah, brilliant, break her heart instead. It’s as if Peter knows more bad guys with superpowers will show up. Because there’s no reason for him to fear normal burglers etc finding out Spider-Mans true identity. It was a stupid and heartless decision.

"He could've become a villain easily. I'm surprised he didn't become one." - Vkunia
    - I read somewhere that both Peter Parker / Spiderman and Green Goblin / Norman Osborn are meant to represent two sides of the same coin when it comes to having special abilities. When someone gets a special ability or power, the question then becomes "do they use it responsibly? (the whole Uncle Ben thing). The person then comes to a fork in the road. They can either choose to use it for themselves and only their own personal betterment (the Osborn Path / being like Goblin) or use it to help others (the Parker Path - being like Spidey).
The aforementioned fork in the road is where the person's views of others and their relationship to others determines which path they may decide to choose. Goblin chooses his way because he thinks little of other people and views himself as better than others. Parker chooses his way because he values other people and cares about them. (The fork in the road for these characters is what they decide to do once they get theri powers. The fork in the road for the audience is two scenes - for Spiderman, it's the Uncle Ben "with great power comes great responsibility line," while for Goblin, it's his speech he makes to Spiderman on a rooftop to try and convince Spiderman to join him, the "in spite of everything you've done for them, eventually they will hate you" speech.)

The tragedy that Peter goes through in his life, the fact that he can keep doing what he does is astounding. Honestly probably the only more tragic story of a comic character that comes close to spidey is Magneto but unlike Peter he let his grief and anger turn into hate for mankind and used his powers for evil. Peters morals are dictated by his Uncles dying last words so he uses his powers as responsibly as he can.

I haven't read the comic books so might not be the best person to explain it, but I believe that they could have "sacked" Norman Osborn from being a CEO of Oscorp if the board of the company had more than 50% of shares all together. If he had less than half and they all voted against him, than it was possible. He would still own his shares and would be owed dividend income but would no longer be a CEO.

The Toby McGuire Spider-Man is based off the comic books too. They just changed a few things up to make it fresh. And that's what each movie version of Spider-Man has done. There's like 60 years of lore to pick from. Comic book Spider-Man went to high school, then college, he worked for the Daily Bugle as a photographer, etc., but his web shooters were something he made, as with the Tom Holland version. Toby's version made his own suit, which is in the comics, and did the wresting thing, etc. However, the gf that Gobby had on the bridge was Gwen Stacey. MJ was someone that Aunt May hooked Peter up with at one point when he and Gwen were on the outs. Peter also was interested in Betty (from the Bugle) and Liz (from school).

A few fun little tid bits about the making of this movie: Joe Manganiello (the guy who plays Flash Thomson, he also played the "hot" werewolf in True Blood) during the fight scene in the high school hallway between Peter and Flash, Joe punches Toby in the face (mainly cause according to him and the rest of the crew on the set of that movie, Toby was kind of a dick and when he got punched in the face numerous members of the crew congratulated him on doing something that they all wished they could).
In the scene where Peter catches all the food onto the Cafeteria food tray when MJ trips, that was all shot for real, they did like 50+ takes to get it right.

Sure, this is more mature, because the actors are playing 15 year old characters even they're 27 each... that makes this movie more mature...

@VKunia did you know Kirsten Dunst 1st role was interview with the vampire? Great movie if you never saw it. She was only 11 or 12 when she filmed it. The writing of the book Anne Rice based her
Character off her real life daughter that died of cancer at a young age. Please give the movie a try if you can?

4:57 Did you know there's Spiders-Man? A version of Spider-Man that's a swarm of hive-minded spiders who ate Peter Parker and absorbed his memories. That would be a fun movie, right?
9:11 And this was done for real, so it took like 87 takes or something.
11:53 This would be Bruce Campbell, a good old friend of Sam Raimi who directed this and the main character of his Evil Dead series. Keep track of Bruce he has a cameo in each movie of the Raimi trilogy... and als check out Evil Dead/Evil Dead 2 and Army of Darkness.
12:46 We've had versions where uncle Ben didn't die, so Peter didn't learn this lesson and he kinda became Bruce Wayne, being a multimillionaire celebrity.
20:05 Yup, Stan Lee before they made it a requirement for every Marvel movie to have his cameo. Now Disney copyrighted his likness for next like 50 years so they can put his face anywhere and on anything they want, which is kinda sad.
23:52 Like that parody MTV did with Jack Black?
31:21 This whole fight scene is so Sam Raimi. PoV shots, sparse lighting, some old abandoned building and close-up reactions. Enjoy it while it lasts, cause no other fight scene gets this brutal. You can tell Sony and Marvel loved all the money the movie made, but told Raimi to tone down the blood and punching.
32:47 That was comic-accurate death. Don't worry, he got better cause comic books.
37:39 Actually no. Maguire is way more faithful to the comics, more specifically it feels like Silver Age Lee/Ditko run. Holland movies happened because suddenly Marvel made a deal with Sony, so they rushed the character into MCU without a proper introduction. Because of that he basically ended the one thing Spider-Man never was - a sidekick.

My only complaint about this film is how they made MJ catch the edge of that gondola car - not only is it highly unlikely she'd catch the edge perfectly like that, but even if it was possible, her arms would have been jolted right out of their sockets, possibly even torn right off. She was falling too far, too fast, to make any of that possible without serious injury.
But that's the movies. If they always obeyed laws of physics and odds of probability, we'd have very short, very boring movies.

Ummm V,. He stole WAY more than $3000 dollars. He robbed the guys entire little lock box. $3000 was just what Peter was hoping to get. But in all likelihood given the rush job, he got out with al least over $15 - $20 000. He had a whole mini duffle bag full of money. That's more than $3000.

It's strange how certain CGI shots in this that were considered bad at the time haven't really gone away. The Tom Holland Spider-Man looks pretty seamless, but when you watch a CW or some of the Disney+ superhero shows, yikes. The good stuff hasn't gotten any cheaper or streamlined.
