Hey man been watching your channel for about 2 months now when I got a 2002 GMC Duramax trying to learn more about these trucks and motors. The truck has 106,000 miles on it it has been in the family sence it was new very clean truck all Original so far no big problems with it. Love the videos keep them coming 👍
Thank you so much for taking the time and spending the money and filming all the steps needed to prolonging the life a duramax. I'm so excited to get better and better to eventually one day look at my engine and say I can fix that I know exactly what the issue is. Thank you so much.
That thing looks wicked. Like as if Spiderman and venom were one together. Thanks for all these videos. I've learned so much in a week of watching your videos. I asked a mechanic if he could tell me how to fix my duramax and i would pay him and he laughed and said it took me 10years to learn diesel. I wouldn't say I know diesel but I know duramax thanks to you. I owe you n we all owe you. Ill make sure to support the channel more. Thanks alot man
Looks awesome! Love the Patriotic colors on the engine. The floor pans looking clean under the cab. Cant wait to see her going back together. All those who are helping by donating their time and knowledge are very great people. Its hard to find good people who would do this for others . That whole crew there are very special people. Keep up the great job Josh. Can't wait to see the next video.
Man that motor is so clean and looks better than new. Definitely arguable that it has any miles on it now. Definitely anxious for the victory max to come together!!! All your guys hard work has came together so nicely!!!!
Have built me a 7.2 litter mustang with awesome power.injectors alone were $4200. Was having electrical problem with power drain from all of my electrical components. My engine power flatlined on the Dyno at 6300 rpm produced only 1223hp. Must say I was disappointed. Didn’t realize I was having a low voltage problem which was under powering my fuel pump. I have now went to lithium power 16 v. Will try this again with hopefully better results. Seems I am always having a problem to solve with my set- up.
What a great video again ! I’m a mechanic as well and I really enjoy to see good work like this 👌🏻 I absolutely love how everything turns out !! Greetings to y’all from the German guy who lives in France 😬🤘🏻
Love your channel man, great content! I’m always watching and hoping after long hard day at work I can watch something new from your channel and a few others.
@@ericvortecmax only thing you'd see or notice is a little lower EGTs at best. When you're past a certain wheel horsepower, probably 600, I'd say yeah....swap them. Anything before that is a waste.
I did up pipes and the down pipe at the same time. Also a sinister egr delete intake tube. It gets into boost a little faster. It cleans the smoke up quicker. I don’t know what else to say. Even my friend noticed it when I let him drive it.
@@ericvortecmax Deleting EGR is one thing, which you didn't mention in original question and that would mainly help keep carbon buildup out of intake and head ports. I'm not doubting a little quicker spool and lower EGTs, but I'll bet on the dyno it really isn't much if anything at all. So my point it, that Duramax will be just fine without the extra cost for minimal gains.
Lb7 and LmL are by far the best motors for Duramax had an 02 Lb7 it was awesome and now have a 15 lml and love both engines can’t wait to see the end result!
What do I think?! WHAT DO I THINK?! I think I’m jealous as hell! I wish I had a shop to do all this! I have an 06 LBZ is 108k and perfect interior... typical rust spots... but you are doing EVERYTHING I want to do... the color matched Raptor liner... the Raptor epoxy frame.... the clean engine... ugh love it! Can’t wait to see it done!
Man I just wanna say thank you for all the content you put out by far my favorite UA-camr Everything you do is very informative and has helped me a lot throughout my Duramax build I have a 2008 GMC LMM duramax I absolutely love these trucks.
I'm just getting into the duramax life! Just bought an lb7 a month or so ago. Your videos have helped me immensely to learn quickly! I'm knowledgeable about vehicles in general, but deisels are like a foreign language. I'm learning though for sure. Couple quick questions if you have a second. I bought the truck from my father who said the injectors had been done about 10k mi ago. I know balance rates aren't the be all end all, but they are all showing around 3.1-3.7. + and -. Seems weird knowing they were done recently. The truck has efi live and came with an Autocal and cts3 monitor. The reason I bought the duramax was to have some fun with some power. However, I'm super afraid to get into it with fear of damaging something. I have no clue if trans has been built or if there's a possible way to tell. Also, seems like the company that the tunes are from(atp) have since closed shop. Id assume the tunes were specific to what the previous owner wanted. Is it possible to figure out what those tunes are, or should I assume they'd be fine for me? Do I install a lift pump? I understand its tough to answer questions like this online with limited info, but any input or advice you have would be appreciated more than you know!!
Nice looking rebuild. The engine looks great - but the old FICM looks out of place and spoils the looks of the whole engine. Polish it up and use some HT clear coat to keep it clean.
What is the part number you got from bosh for the injectors; also are you gonna leave the oem down pipe or go with a aftermarket unit? Looks good especially the body work and the frame looks wet.
So this has stock size injectors and factory down pipe, but has the 64mm rds turbo. Cool, i have new bosch injectors and factory dp on my lb7. Looking forward to see what it makes for torque. 👍👍👍
Only ONE thing I’d change. I would have had the front fenders modified to prevent any issues with offset and tire clearance. Good to do when you’re already in there. Otherwise keep up the good work.
I Also went with new bosch injectors after installing rebuilds twice, returning them for so called good ones finally giving up, they charged 20% restocking fee and wouldn't return my cores probably sold them as rebuilds, out of memphis the (D)ont (C)are (P)eople.
I cannot express how much I enjoy your videos! Is it my eyes or is there a lot of blurryness lately, not being critical, just wanted to know if I should go see the eye doctor or not.
If you were to pay a shop to do this work to your engine what would be a price to expect? Not including the cost of parts but just labour to do all this
Man I guess Diesel engines and rolling coal and whistling turbos it just almost gives me a woody. Pure testosterone made for men only it gets in your blood 🩸 I love it . Good show josh Ryan beard and the body shop guy 👍💪🏻
Love the videos but the engine looks a little "clownish". to make it right, i feel the truck would need a wrap to compliment it. Great work and great content ! Keep them coming !
@@TruckMaster it's pretty much "better than new" when you figure in the frame and excellent body work with exceptional rust proofing. At that rate, the "sentimental items" might have to take a bow, if you're financially having to let something('s) go. Figure in your age, you have a long way to go, Victory Max could potentially outlast you, as we humans are not "rust proofed" so to speak. Just my .02 cents, something to think about. Tough call indeed, however, you're probably not gonna find a truck in that pristine condition of that vintage, ever again.

I appreciate that

I love the Patriotic Theme on the engine along with the Victory Red paint on the body of the truck

Definitely 👍 thanks
Before that cab goes on you should do some soundproofing on the firewall! Just a suggestion 😁

It would be pretty cool if you went over how much this all would cost to do(rough estimate). I would love to make my lb7 brand new again.
Love the restoration builds!
Thanks
Can’t wait for the results dude it’s gonna look bad ass
Old guys rule. Learned that trick 40 years ago yes I’m old
I had to leave that clip in the video 😂
Say no more..
Looking great ! Like the color scheme. What a great project. Great group of guys just enjoying a great build project. Only in A..Merica !
The new painted up Duramax engine looks really good.
Bro. Even my wife likes the motor! She is a vet!
That’s awesome
Impressive Josh, impressive! This truck is going to look amazing!👍👍
That engine will look awesome under the hood !🤩
Love your channel man, great content! I’m always watching and hoping after long hard day at work I can watch something new from your channel and a few others.
Thanks Mitchell it means a lot
Some day when I’m all grown up, I want the boys to do this to my lb7. Just take it to kodiak and say. “I want to the truck master special.”
😂 👍
Awesome brother! Love the Patriotic theme!!
All that work and stock manifolds, up pipes and down pipe?
Why not, you don't need anything else with the power this will make.
I have a stock fuel/turbo lly and I noticed a difference

Put some clear or white silicone on your side metal Injector lines to keep dirt and moisture out.

While the harmonic balancer was off why didn’t you look at upgrading it? Curious if there was a reason you decided not too.
Looks amazing really making me wanna completely re do my truck
Looking good Josh! Love the color blue you chose. You are matching my high school colors to the tee.
Thanks
how would i do a full filter delete on an lly if i didnt wanna just loop from bottom to top
You guys are rocking it!! Loving this special content.
Nice looking rebuild. The engine looks great - but the old FICM looks out of place and spoils the looks of the whole engine. Polish it up and use some HT clear coat to keep it clean.
Looks beautiful! Thanks for the detail on the video.
Great build!
Motor looks fantastic!
Thanks 🙏
The Seat shop can give you a full leather interior 800 to a 1000
Great job everyone can’t wait to see how it turns out
Thanks
This truck was seriously saved from the metal recycler. Nice job.
Thanks

The rough county shocks ride rough. So just a thought I'd upgrade them to bilstein shocks.
Only ONE thing I’d change. I would have had the front fenders modified to prevent any issues with offset and tire clearance. Good to do when you’re already in there.
Otherwise keep up the good work.

When you're running bigger injectors and upgraded turbo with the max airflow kits, are you using custom tuning?
It’s always a good idea
Wow . Good work boys. Happy for ya josh. Sucks you ran into some issues but it was for the good. Nice build buddy from michigan!🤙🏽
Thanks
I am not the biggest fan of chevys or GMC but dam this thing is going to look sweet !! Good job guys ! America 🇺🇸
Thanks
Build is comin along nice keep up the good work man she’ll be a Beautiful truck when it’s done👍👍
Nice job so far, look forward to seeing rest of the build
One thing you could never beat in this world is experiencing!
I could watch you guys build, truck after truck after truck after truck.....
It’s a lot of fun
If you had yo purchase a remanufactured lbz engine who would you recommend?
Miller engines in Pa
@@TruckMaster thank you sir. Dirty hooker diesel was 5 weeksout and i just can't wait that long.
A ppe oil fill cap would look nice on there also
One notable example of quality aircraft threads. Truck Master spins the compressor wheel onto the RDS 64 turbo turbine wheel shaft
Wow! Great work and a great project. Thanks.
Now that is a slick engine
👍
I love the color scheme! Ya nailed it. ‘Merica all the way.
I'm not a chevy guy ,but I really like the build
Thanks

My camera lens was dirty during the videoing unfortunately
Truck Master well dirty lense or not, just keep doing what you’re doing because it is amazing to watch!
Are parts made better for the lb7 or will they always have the issues with injectors and head gaskets? Awesome work 👍
Is thst original frame sand blasted?
If you were to pay a shop to do this work to your engine what would be a price to expect? Not including the cost of parts but just labour to do all this
Awesome job guys. You asked our opinion and the only thing I would say is the blue is a little to light for me but who am I!! LOL
The big reason I went light is so you will be able to see it
Engine is really cool Josh! Did you go with HSP y bridge? Or did it already have one in it?
What up man my 02 duramax has a broken crank what do you recommend?
Mahle
@@TruckMaster appreciate the response brotha!! would you do an entire rebuild? Sorry thank you
Are you going to get a new downpipe on it? Looks like the old one. Truck and engine looks phenomenal though!
I'm in love with the truck already and it's not even done yet!
Thanks Eric
Paint a American Flag under the hood so it shows when you open it.
Done ✅

Looks good!! I was surprised by the stock down pipe. Must be some reasoning to it though. No HSP cooler pipes? Overall this build rocks!!!
Keeping it low budget still
Could you ask the Ryans diesel guys which oils they run and if they use any additives?
Schafer’s and hotshots

How much does this cost. Would be interested to do this to my truck in the future.
A LOT

Coming together so nice. God damn 👍 Props to all you for getting this far in a very quick period of time
We are really pushing to get this one done
Why not run LMM heads/ECM for more reliable injectors and more power?
To late now also more money 💵

Low to High Price Range
