Thanks to Jufuses supporters. This is one of the best reviews I have seen in yrs. Cause he is being true. I hope he stays like that.Very balanced and sincere review.
With all the fakeness of youtube this is the 1st time in years I actually enjoyed this today.
I like the content. Thank you to all the members for making this video happen!
The oled being 999 usd is the deal breaker for me thanks for addressing the brightness issue that’s a huge thing for us Cod bros lmao now I don’t need to find out the hard way and have to return it because I doubt any other review would be as brutally honest as this once again Thanks Jufes always keep this integrity bro nothing but respect
Honestly if the LG OLED was like £500 it would be a killer deal, just doesn't make sense when you can get a LG C2 i got mine for £750.
Yeah, 999 for 1440p is ghetto. Looks too grainy. At that size 4k is minimum
@@ronniekregar3482 thanks for stating the obvious, the sky is also blue
@@ronniekregar3482 lol yeah now that you said that I agree with you, especially as a person who uses the c2 as a monitor I went back to a traditional 27” 1440p monitor
@@WilFitzzVery good tv but for video playback but that's only 120hz. Personally i can't play games lower than 240hz. Even my GP850 at 180hz is really a struggle and C9 at 120hz is just no. There are so many good 240hz+ options these days.
Thanks for taking a step back and giving us the big picture with all of these. Appreciate the multiple perspectives! I'm at 1440p, mostly single player and at lower refresh rates currently... because of your honest review, I'll be holding out until OLED is less expensive and brighter. Seems like it's heading in the right direction though.
Get the AW3423DWF, i waited so long for gaming OLED too and I couldnt wait. So i ordered it and tested it. BEST Gaming Monitor I have ever had. Before that i had many IPS panels. This LG OLED Panel isnt as good because it has matte coating and takes away the vibrant colours etc.

How can you not like this guy?Anyone else every notice how this guy and optimum tech’s opinions/conclusions are always similar? It’s because they both play games and they both actually test shit. Best two UA-camrs. You’ll have the subs you deserve someday. And you’re handsome, no homo, keep it up dawg
"If you're a cod bro & you like to go both ways" lmfao.. that head nod had me lmao!!
If you already have a 1440p screen, you can still achieve the 25inch mode of the asus by creating a custom resolution in nvidia control panel.
2258 x 1270 for 24”
2322 x 1306 for 24.5”
Just turn off scaling and you get the same result of high ppi at 24-25 inches with black borders.
Another thing to note is although high ppi at 24-25 inches looks very sharp, the actual size of objects is smaller than 1080p 25”. Meaning the 90 ppi at 1080p makes enemies appear larger than the 110ppi which is a big deal for Csgo/Val.
it's the FOV, not ppi that determines the size of the objects... in higher ppi, but same screen size and FOV, the size is the same, just on higher ppi screen the object consists of more pixels, dasit.
@@hfn71 you're correct, but CSGO/Valorant FOV is locked to 90 afaik
just in your video subjectively that OLED looks incredible color wise. Thanks to supporters
Thanks Jufes & Supporters for the content. Tasty Treats
Looking at a new monitor this year for Singleplayer, that's my Jam, using 4K IPS 75Hz for that at the moment, but moving from 2080ti to 4090 tier at some point soon after this new monitor puchase.
Use the remote that came with the LG to disable the power savings/eco mode.
Also if you turn on HDR in windows display settings and increase the screen brightness slider it should get brighter. I'm sure it's not as bright as the other two monitors but I bet it will be much better
Really great review, well organized
Love the new videos, very good quality with the 4k 60, and thanks for your honest reviews as always.
Also thanks for all the supporters of this channel!!
Your best review yet. Thanks for reviewing these three monitors. Now I know which one to get.
For someone with no background on reviewing monitors, you exceeded my expectations by a huge margin. You started slow with little confidence in your skills and ended it on a roll. You rocked on this one, and I was so convinced that my next monitor will be the LG Oled. I'll just wait a bit more and see what the near future will get us.
Now I wish you can put your hands on 27 inches DyAc monitor and a Viewsonic with PureXP and share some thoughts.
Here they come!!!
The “My oled monitor doesn’t look that dim actually it beats my 3000 nits tv, are you sure that the settings are right?”

Greatest review I’ve seen on this LG to date!! Fucking goat!! You should review the new Asus OLED 27inch and Acer Oled 27inch.
Just picked up the LG OLED ❤
Best tech channel out there by far
I went with the Alienware AW3423DW with the latest hardware and firmware revision. Amazing QD OLED monitor that can really pop with HDR1000. It also has a glossy finish. Can't ever go back to IPS or VA. Don't get why Corsair didn't go semi glossy with higher sustained brightness
The colors really pop on the QD-OLED. It's hard to see in a video but it's also brighter than the LG OLED and in person it's very very easy to notice the difference. The only problem is how buggy the Alienware is
@@ms3862 I'm on the A06 hardware rev and 102 firmware, build date of November 2022. No issues or bugs that I can see so far. They also updated the fans in the newer units and they are dead silent
Great respect for your honest review, not bank rolled by suppliers.
The contrast looks blown out on the Samsung while the OLED has far more detail
Did you turn off energy-saving mode on the 27-in OLED? That is on by default and allegedly greatly reduces brightness
Yes it was off
QD-OLED has more brightness than LG tech. AMOLED tech in phones (i think) have more brightness too.
I can see the screen perfectly with a lot of sunlight outdoors.
OLED is for dark room viewing period. I have 2 OLEDS and could never use a LCD now.
Great content !! Thanks fellow supporters !! Thanks HooDoos.
"Theres no brightness man!" Jufus 2023 😂 I FELT that one man lol
Pretty sure that the next gen of OLED monitors will be the one to get, this thing is too first gen in some ways.
Asus and potentially others are going to put a heatsink on the back of the panel to boost brightness + OLED panels get a bit brighter gen by gen anyway.
The electronics to drive 360 Hz 1440p already exist and the OLED panel is more than fast enough for it, so it's just a matter of time until we see a 360 Hz OLED. I'm just a bit concerned about pricing, not buying a 1500$ monitor.
First gen is a good conclusion IMO. The text fringing issues also need to get addressed by a clear type update in Windows first.
It's obvious in many ways that this is still early adopter and not quite there yet.
It's way more important having a good UI and options for a gaming monitor (like Black Frame Insertion, similar motion to Plasma/CRT tech) than mindless push of refresh rates in my opinion.
I've been waiting for this my life time
how did he get his hands on the 27'' LG?
f5
Would love to see you reviewing the Asus PG27AQDM, it is supposed to be better than the LG in terms of brightness although I don't know if the increase is enough where enemies hiding in shadows isn't a problem anymore.
The oled has an OSD. You have to use the remote. And you have to disable energy saving.
If you somehow have lost the remote, use an lg tv remote.
For single player games, would the Samsung Neo G8 be better than the 42” LG C2? I have the C2 and am absolutely in love with it!
What monitor would you recomend for a ps5 fps competitive scene? I do play single player games to but i have a 2nd asus 60fps 4k screen so i could use that for the single player games lol🤣 this screen is like 5 years old but still works perfectly lol
My man. Thank you supporters
That cat thick as heeeeell haha. Thanks for another great review fellas. I played Forza Motorsport 7(very bright game) on a LG oled C8 years ago at a friends place and couldn't get past how it crushed blacks to the point where it looked like information was actually missing. I think a lot of it has to do with the content. Games aren't designed to look correct on oled maybe? How is text quality on oled?
Does the Dual E-Sports Mode 25 Inch mean you still get the resolution of a 1440P in a 25 inch panel? OR, does it mean 25" ONLY 1080p?
asus 360 1080 or 1440 the 1080p was 299
the LG comes with a remote to acces the settings. no need for the software. did u even switch off the power saving mode on the LG? if not your opinion on the brightness is obsolete ;-)
Yes it was off, yes it was still that dim
The neo g8 has a 27 and 25” mode which I use and it’s great for fps gaming
Great video Jufes 💪✊🥰. As a supporter I feel great knowing someone does a lot of the FAFO’ing for me haha😅😂🤣. Then I can can just buy what suits me best for my games 🤩🥳. I agree we need to see some real reviews by users / gamers etc in addition to just seeing spec’s on paper as the specs don’t show user feel for their gaming genre, things (eg brightness or black stabilisers) that can affect your gameplay.
On the video, the oled doesn't look too dim but the other two look way too fucking bright.
Would have pulled the trigger on the oled the brightness being bad makes it a pass for me hopefully the asus model fixes that issue. Im glad I waited for your review and I appreciate the coverage on it. Buying it and having to return it would have been annoying.
You can really tell that a lot of PC gamers out here have Never owned an OLED. I don’t think they realize OLED displays (except phones) are designed for dark room viewing.
U need to do a compilation of that COD bro voice 😂😂😂
Yeah hdr on with vivid mode works great for me in warzone 2.0 using the LG OLED
Hey Jufes, Thanks for the Video I appreciate your Content.
Also for the OLED did you set power saver mode to off? Heard it helps the monitor brightness a ton but I wanna know if it actually does.
Also heard that the two brightest settings are Gamer 1 and Vivid. Using SDR or HDR. I did hear that HDR’s better for brightness too but yeah never know with these other tech-tubers sometimes.
@@nossy232323 Oh yeah, your right I think that’s why they say that Gamer 1 is better also. I forgot that fact when I made this comment. Thanks.
Hardware Unboxed had a dig at your review saying that there is no brightness problems with the LG unlike another reviewer has stated. Hilarious shit, these guys watch your content and you are like a niggling fly to them they can't get rid of. Your review is much better by the way.
Today is the day I have to decide if I return the LG oled and hope/wait the asus comes in stock :-(
Awesome vid man. Cheers
Best review bro
Something is either seriously screwed up with that LG OLED screen or OLED TRUE pixel response times are severely over-rated if an LCD (even if it's TN) @ 360 fps/Hz is achievng lower total pixel response times (and therefore better motion-clarity) than an OLED @ 240 fps/Hz.
Any one who's not a complete pleb knows that "1ms" and "0.03ms" response times are marketing B.S. but, still, an OLED @ 240 fps / Hz should destroy any LCD (even a TN) @ 360 fps / Hz.
Of course I'm not talking about strobing and black-frame-insertion modes which can bring incredible, old-school CRT-like levels of motion clarity, that's a different story. I'm just talking about normal modes.
Will you reach in 25inch on ASUS ROG Swift PG27AQN with 13900k and 4090 the 360 fps in warzone ?
I have the AW3423DW and am curious how the latency, motion blur, image quality/contrast, etc. compare with the 27GR95QE-B. My gut says the AW is better overall (even if using the cheaper AW3423DWF for a fairer comparison). AW pros: higher resolution, a less matte coating apparently (I would say it's still basically glossy which is nice in darker environment), higher brightness & better color reproduction (QD-OLED), better & longer warranty incl. burn-in. AW cons: maybe slower latency (0.1 vs 0.03 ms) & slightly more motion blur, 175Hz vs 240 on LG, no HDMI 2.1 with 48Gbps, 10bit vs 12bit on LG.
The Samsung QD OLED is better overall. Watch Linus's video comparing it against the Sony FW900 CRT monitor (after calibration) and 2304 x 1440 resolution 80Hz.
Plot twist: the CRT still won on motion response (no surprises here).
The lg is better in motion because of the 240hz. 0.1 or 0.03ms means nothing because oled hold the frame untile a new frame come so the perceived motion will depend on how much hz you can push. Example 175hz will have a 5.7ms motion clarity and 240hz 4.1
I don't understand why you'd need to use the black equalizer on the OLED. If things are just looking like a solid black blob then something isn't calibrated correctly and you're getting "black crush". You should be able to keep the black levels at their darkest while not suffering black crush because dark parts of the screen should be all sorts of different levels of black/grey instead of just a solid black blob (which then needs the entire picture's black levels affected by adding "black equalization").
Furthermore, you have massive "white crush" on the Samsung, at least on camera. Instead of seeing individual stars, the centre of the screen is one huge solid white blob. Even on the Horizon benchmark screen, there's massive white crush at the bottom of the screen, a solid white blob instead of seeing the individual flames. Once your adjusted monitor settings get to the point where you start getting noticeable colour crushing, then you've hit that monitor's limit. For eg. If you start getting bad white crush at, let's say 75% contrast, then it wouldn't be fair to compare that monitor's contrast (or brightness or whatever) to other monitors while it's running 75% or, worse yet, 100% contrast because, at that point, the monitor is set well beyond it's performance limits and is therefore destroying the picture / image quality.
Finally, the blacks on the OLED not only have a strong blue tint but, perhaps more importantly, are fairly grey and not nearly as "black" as on the Samsung. This is looking at, both, the static Horizon benchmark screen and the space background screen. Maybe it's just me or how it comes through on camera but I really hope that's not the case in real life. Even with a matte a coating, an OLED having lighter blacks than a VA? Really?
P.S. This last point isn't really important because you can crank this up or dial it down on absolutely any monitor but the OLED is clearly set to some cranked-up vibrancy level while the other two are set to arguably more realistic vibrancy levels.
I’m just a plug & play newbie. 4090 w/ 7700x then upcoming 7800x3d chip in April. LG’s my choice, both 42 c2 & 27 1440p monitor. Best of both worlds. Only wish is that 4K OLED has a higher refresh & at 27/32in. That’ll be my end-game monitor. I’ll gladly return both for a 27/32in 165+hz 4K OLED monitor.
@@DrTopLiftDPT Can run pretty much any single player 4k 120 w/ max settings flawlessly. Also play at 200+ 1440p warzone max settings. It’s really just about the eye candy w/ a 4090. Similar top cards can get you similar 1440p fps w/ lower settings.
@@DrTopLiftDPT Funny enough there's still quite a few games that can't be maxed out at 4k with a 4090 without DLSS'S help or frame generation (which I don't like using). Though honestly most of the time it's unoptimized titles like Witcher 3 RT update, Portal RTX, or just really badly optimized games like Gotham Knights.
Pg27aqn 360hz or pg27aqdm 240hz OLED? For competitive gaming mainly
If you don't care about BFI you don't care about motion clarity. You'd need like 1000Hz to get the same motion clarity as 240hz BFI. I can understand your POV as you don't really play CS:GO / Valorant, but saying it's useless while talking about motion clarity in the same video is kind of ignorant.
He doesn't even know how Sonic Mania looks on a CRT TV/Monitor and Plasma.
BFI doesn't solve the problem, get a Plasma.
Which oled 1440p around 27 inch is the best for fps games? I'm looking for that one like we're all doing. Mostly play valorant csgo and on occasion some single player games.
Or should one just stay with ips instead.

End game until we have to revisit this with µLED
I feel like µLED will be very similar in experience to OLED with a slightly faster response time, but significantly lower power consumption and presumably absolutely no burn in despite being brighter.
Honestly, for being an emissive display technology, OLED has horrible efficiency, its worse than LCD despite LCD blocking no less than 30%, and as much as 80% of the light coming out of it.
Before you say "but the samsung wall uses 4kw"
Yea, its a whole wall, it isnt that many LEDs per square inch, meaning they're pretty over-driven(voltage wise)
and its like 3000 nits
These LEDs are well outside of their efficiency curve as evident by nearly half the power being turned into heat(normal LEDs only 1/5th the power or less ends up as heat)
Increase the pixel density spreading out that light production across more LEDs at lower voltage/amperage, and drop it to 1200nits and that Samsung wall might end up around 700w.
I have almost zero hopium when it comes to microled. I think it's many years away from coming to monitors, if it even ever happens. It's taken years just to get from 110" 4K down to 76" this year. Seems like they just can't get the pixel density down, the microleds just aren't micro enough or the heat is too much when placed too close together, idk.
I'll be happy if I'm wrong btw.
µLED would be the same thing as OLED for response times unless the engineers make the tech display impulse based like CRTs and Plasmas.
Absolutely nothing beats Sonic Mania Plus on a CRT or Plasma. " its worse than LCD" No, LCD is a giant steaming pile of poop that did a lot of harm to gaming and image quality in general.
As someone who has had a side by side 360hz vs an AW3423DWF, your opinion is so wrong lol.
I’m a cod bro and I have the Neo G8. But I set it to 21:9 aspect in game and it’s awesome. It shrinks down the vertical height to about a 26” equivalent but with free horizontal real estate for peripheral vision. Super clear and honestly my favorite Ive ever used. I had the xg27aqm prior
The curve though. I've never had a monitor w one and am thinking you will have a disadvantage

I've been using a custom resolution on my 32" 1440p to create a faux 27" with a black border when I play competitive games. There's a setting in AMD Adrenalin to center the resolution you select vs stretching it.
Yep great feature. It also is possible to do this on Nvidia Control Panel by navigating to Adjust Desktop size and position then setting Scaling mode to "No Scaling." This means the Monitor is doing 1:1 (one to one) pixel mapping and thus lower resolution than native has black borders.
Samsung need to stop with these fucking curved monitors.

You need the remote that comes in the box to change shit on the oled. You gotta turn off energy saving settings to keep it from lowering peak brightness. I discovered that for some reason the shadow detail is way better in hdmi. It gets significantly brighter in hdr. I haven’t had to turn on black equalization in competitive games. I can’t stress enough that this monitor is not dim, it has been searing my eyeballs the last few weeks compared to my previous 240hz alienware 1080p monitor.

That's called ABL (automatic brightness limiter) and cannot be disabled on LG OLED displays.
@@erikhendrickson59 It makes it less agressive
@@ronniekregar3482 nope. The power supply literally can't do peak brightness on the full panel. Its ways there although lessened when you disable the auto brightness settings.
