Emily posted a photo, looking adorable as always, with a pronounced baby bump, and another showing an apparently happy and healthy little one. She was put in a tough situation when Cote dePablo quit the show five days before Season 11 was to begin filming. Given a basic outline of the role, she created a character that grew on me. She played out her contract and allowed for CBS to have her replacement ready; a true professional. At 36, she probably figured she needed the break to have a baby (Sasha Alexander did the same after Season 2), and has enough income to let it happen. Best of luck, darlin'!

I thought the series took a major downturn when they killed off Jenny the "director" of NCIS and the past history and personal emotional connection she and Gibbs shared from their past and also their present. Added a lot to the show and why they intereacted with each other like they did. As the show has continued to kill off longterm friendships and characters that have affected each other for much of the shows life each time they take away a little or a lot of what made the show great depending on the character that they killed off or that left. Today the show is just a shell of what it once was and really time for it to end.

Towards the end of NCIS past season, I thought as often as the “new” face that showed up a few weeks prior and worked with the team, was going to possibly replace “Bishop”
The show hasn't been the same since Zeva left she was a badass!!! And beautiful lady and actress!! Like to see her return never could connect with Bishop
I'm glad Bishop is no more. When Emily Wickersham first appeared on NCIS, she was a quirky former NSA analyst who did her thinking while sitting on the floor. She was ok and I hoped they didn't attempt to turn her into Ziva. While she wasn't exactly a Ziva wannabe, the show changed her character. And when they attempted to go a familiar route in creating a similar romantic storyline like Tony/Ziva with Bishop/Torres, I thought I wouldn't mind if Bishop left the show. And wouldn't you know it??? It came true! Now....if only she would've taken Kasie with her.
Naah we all know kates gonna rise from the dead to replace her or ziva will come outta retirement or whatever. Edit the reason i didn't mention dinozzo is because bull is still going on
What a blood letting of characters this season has been but the worst I recall was a Vampire series called Forever Knight where they killed off two of the regular characters in episodes 1 and 2 and when the series was cancelled they managed to off 5 more during the final 2 shows including the lead.
Sean Murray was technically not there from the beginning. I think he started as a recurring character in the first season. He was probably didn’t show up until almost halfway thru the first season
Where's the sad 😭😢 like / dislike button. I still haven't got to watch that episode and it's on my DVR. She was great for the series and I still say the second Mark Harmon leaves, the show is over. Last six to 8 episodes only and CBS won't play anymore episodes.
Minor but disappointing script error: Sean Murray's McGee is introduced in the first season but not in the first episode, and could not be in NCIS "from the beginning," as stated. EDIT YOUR WORK.
Awwwww....loved Ellie. :( Although, with all those tough hours, I can certainly understand. I hope Emily's future indevors are successful and we get to see her in other projects soon.

They made Nick and Ellie's story so similar to Tony and Ziva's. They tried to create a similar thing but with a happier ending but as it turns out, they both left lol.
Although I understand her leaving the show in real life, I’m still disappointed with the way her character was written off and the writers ruined what was a small sprout of Nick and Ellie’s relationships. Ellie knew about Nick’s traumas with everyone betrayed him or abandoned him (like his father for instance). Yet the writers decided to part them like that. I doubt that even if Ellie comes back in the future, the team especially Nick will be open to welcome her back.
Season 18 of NCIS was a mess due to Mark Harmon's bad choices of putting crew members in pitbulls danger. The popular brave Pauly Perrette was forced off NCIS because she was the only cast member w the guts to call Mark Harmon's pitbull a DANGER when a crew member needed 16 stitches on his face from Harmon's pitbull. Maria Bello and Emily Wickersham left too. I now believe, despite what either of these two women say, that they left too because of the pitbull danger. I am just finishing Season 18 on DVD and there are at least 3 pitbulls that have been in the last 4-5 episodes. Mark Harmon ruined NCIS because of his love of pitbulls, which have the highest kill rate of humans of any dog. I used to love the role of Gibbs but Harmon clearly doesn't have enuf awareness of what is going on in the USA regarding all the pitbull maulings. 700 stitches on one woman, 5,000 stitches on another woman on Christmas Day, disemboweling of children. What a terrible role model Harmon ended up becoming.
Sorry to see her go, but as a working actress she is in danger of being typecast early in her career, not a good thing. Mark Harmon is over 60, so NCIS is fine for his "sunset years", indeed, he is now to old to be a field agent, and should retire, but that could finish the series. My solution would be for him to become operations director of NCIS when Vance follows the advice of the congresswoman and moves to politics. The admin director would be the guy who stood in for Leon when his wife was killed, this would widen the cases Gibbs worked. i have noticed over the years that NCIS looks at social problems, homeless vets etc, highlighting many issues, with Leon in Congress the social inequities of those leaving and serving could be highlighted. A grat series which I hope will last many more years!
I worked for a Federal agency years ago, but retired from a NY State agency as a police officer 20 years ago! I used to know a real NCIS officer (can't reveal his name) who never mentioned anything about getting involved with spys, foreign agents, etc., but this was before the NCIS shows were on! I always felt that if I had a boss like Gibbs, that I would have either been fired or brought him up on charges! NCIS must not have a union! If they did, no officers would ever put up with his "antics'1
NCIS is pure fiction. Gibbs would be in prison for things he did. Gibbs is an anti hero a sociopath with a dark disturbed past. He is the poster child for who should not be in law enforcement.
From the UK , oh come on , she was never that good in NCIS. She was just the required female in the role . Ziva made that role her own and can never be bettered .
The reason why I quit watching NCIS the newer seasons was cause when Eleanor, Ziva, Abby and Ducky left it was heartbreaking. I refused to watch anymore. I enjoy watching NCIS. Only before they started killing off certain people. I also watch L.A. and N.O. It was sad to see certain actors and actresses we all know and love leave a show we all enjoy. It's like Sleepy Hollow series. By 3rd season they had killed off literally almost everyone that made the show the show. It wasn't even recognizable anymore.
Wilmer Valderrama got offered the part of Zorro in the upcoming “new Zorro” a part Wilmer really wants to play, I’ve heard he’s excepted the part, so Nick Torres will probably be the next to go.
It's not "awesome" that you're leaving!!! I'm somewhat taken aback that when Kate was gone..everyone else stayed the same. Ziva was killed, again everyone else stayed the same. Now Ellie Bishop? Why are the women always the ones to change? At least Abby is gone, what a horrible role she had to play.
My favorite, besides Gibbs, is Tony. I always said the show short-changed his character. He had so much potential but as the other characters got to grow - his character seemed to diminish. All the cool stuff went to the other characters. Being a jock, Tony would not be outdone, physically, by a woman like Ziva. He would have taken up martial arts and maybe even sneak some sniper training at a marine base. Secretly. Only the fans would know, until he had to use his training. But instead, the writers made him a goofball who spent his last season pining over Ziva, a woman who berated and scoffed at him. Who convinced him to meet up with her in Israel, only to ask him, "WHY are you here!?"! Poor Tony! Glad he got his own series.
Emily wants to pursue other roles but a few other female stars have left shows never to be heard from again. Maybe she felt that with Mark taking a reduce role in the show that NCIS will be a footnote now. Money talks so I wonder if that had anything to do with her leaving the show. I thought that both of the NCIS shows that will remain had really weak season finale episodes.
The show is ending after next season. The show would've been cancelled had Mark not agreed to appear in Season 19. They won't do the show without Mark and the ratings will tank next year, with it being Gibbs light.
I think they may bring the Pride character (NCIS NO) in to replace Gibbs. They are suppose to be old friends and coworkers. They will slowly work him in as Gibbs role gets smaller with each episode.
No signs of slowing down? wow they do no research when making a story. It has already been confirmed Mark Harmon will have a lesser amount of appearances next season. I.E. he is about to leave the show. He is not a young man anymore and has talked about leaving for a few seasons now. And guess what when Gibbs is gone, so is the show.
Leaving a hit show to explore other opportunities is common but can back fire. McLean Stevenson left MASH and regret it George Clooney left ER and went on to great roles.
Well, waddayaknow, when I finally start to warm up to her, she decide to jump ship. Oh, funny how Gibbs took a Jason Bourne after being blown out of the water, or into it. That guy has more lives than a cat. Is it me, or is it the writers; I mean, how come it never goes the way I hope? Always the opposite of what I expect. Are they all allergic to romance or something?
Great, no hot chicks, just guys, should be fun to watch lol The only acceptable character to replace Bishop is Zeva, if not, its just introducing a character for the sake of keeping the show going.
Comment by Carmencita: I am glad she finally left. Never could really stand her character, Bishop. She was a poor try to replace Ziva. Katrina Law is a much much better choice for the new season. I am glad Maria Bello also left.
Ncis is turning into a daytime soap opera. Fake drama. Fake music. Emotion. Lonely piano music. Shallow plot. smh. I miss he old NCIS. Taken care of business. Less cheap emotional krap. :(

Will miss you! Wishing you the very best at whatever you do! ♥️🌱
I agree once Tony left it wasn’t the same.
Wilmer Valderrama got offered the part of Zorro in the upcoming “new Zorro” a part Wilmer really wants to play, I’ve heard he’s excepted the part, so Nick Torres will probably be the next to go.
Gibbs has a smaller role, bishop is gone.
Looks like ncis is done
I think Gibbs is the problem. His character is awfull.
Poor Tony! Glad he got his own series.
wow has it been THAT long? I remember her first episode....wow i'm old... lol
Sorry to see her go.
Off to the Bold and the Beautiful may be .
EMILY
IS SO CUTE
Emily wants to pursue other roles but a few other female stars have left shows never to be heard from again. Maybe she felt that with Mark taking a reduce role in the show that NCIS will be a footnote now. Money talks so I wonder if that had anything to do with her leaving the show. I thought that both of the NCIS shows that will remain had really weak season finale episodes.
I hear there was some serious allegations of sexual harassment with past cast members that came out after they left by a senior member of the cast
Bait and switch. No reason given. If Mark Harmon leaves, I'm done.
The show is ending after next season. The show would've been cancelled had Mark not agreed to appear in Season 19. They won't do the show without Mark and the ratings will tank next year, with it being Gibbs light.
Who put the explosives in Gibb's boat and when did they put it there?
I think they may bring the Pride character (NCIS NO) in to replace Gibbs. They are suppose to be old friends and coworkers. They will slowly work him in as Gibbs role gets smaller with each episode.
I'm SO happy she's gone!!! She was awkward and didn't fit on the show!!!
I believe Zika is coming back! Which might bring back Tony, who else could fill Gibbs shoes!
@@jeanninemartin5507 hope it happens.
Leaving a hit show to explore other opportunities is common but can back fire. McLean Stevenson left MASH and regret it George Clooney left ER and went on to great roles.
Not sunset tony and ziva left has it been the same
Well, waddayaknow, when I finally start to warm up to her, she decide to jump ship. Oh, funny how Gibbs took a Jason Bourne after being blown out of the water, or into it. That guy has more lives than a cat. Is it me, or is it the writers; I mean, how come it never goes the way I hope? Always the opposite of what I expect. Are they all allergic to romance or something?
But ellie is leaving nick. 😢 he loves ellie...
Great, no hot chicks, just guys, should be fun to watch lol The only acceptable character to replace Bishop is Zeva, if not, its just introducing a character for the sake of keeping the show going.
@@DancingRasputin I know, thats a bummer and obviously where they are going, but how many cast members can you lose and it still be the same show.
Ohhhh. Okay. I thought you were gonna say it was because she became too embarassed that she forgot to dye her eyebrows blond to go with her hair.
Wait.. this show is still on? I haven't watched since 2010/2011, incredible that it's still going.
Longest running show on CBS....maybe in television history..
@@lancemartin6782 surely Days of our Lives beats that?
@@TonyHamlyn talking prime time.
@@TonyHamlyn I can't watch it aS it reminds me of when I was married
I don’t like that bishop is leaving
Comment by Carmencita: I am glad she finally left. Never could really stand her character, Bishop. She was a poor try to replace Ziva. Katrina Law is a much much better choice for the new season. I am glad Maria Bello also left.
Best of luck our Em, aka Bish whatever you do virtual hugs from across the lake
As long as Gibbs remains I will be very happy. He’s the whole show as I see it. And getting the boat out? Special Gibbs magic!
When I hear the name Wickersham first thing that comes to mind is The Wickersham Brothers from Horton Hears A Who by Dr. Seuss.
Never liked her from the jump.
Please come back please we love you ❤❤❤❤❤❤ Bishop
Knew Ellie will left after they started to introduce that new female agent character on the last few episodes of Season 18 :(
Bishop might still return for Season 30.
Just glad she's gone. Never warmed up to her.
Ncis is turning into a daytime soap opera. Fake drama. Fake music. Emotion. Lonely piano music. Shallow plot. smh. I miss he old NCIS. Taken care of business. Less cheap emotional krap. :(
Honestly loved the show in the beginning but basically stopped watching after Tony left
