Summary: This video provides insight into the experience of Indonesia in developing and implementing the National Single Window. The goal of the national single window system is to simplify the customs clearance and release of goods process. The system provides support and visibility of the customs transactions to all the agencies that are involved in customs clearance. The Indonesia National Single Window (INSW) seeks to balance trade facilitation and the simplification of processes with border protection and risk management. The information flow with Indonesia trade facilitation focuses on pre-clearance management, national single windows/ customs clearance and goods clearance. In order to streamline procedures, the automation of processes has been introduced as far as possible. The video also highlights the main functions of the INSW. The presenter highlighted how the INSW helped Indonesia to comply with the WTO Agreement on Trade Facilitation. The national single window process allows real-time updates of tariffs and customs regulations. The INSW has also been able to provide the government of Indonesia with reliable data about the import and export of goods.
