USAF Security Forces EST buiding clearance and room clearing

  • Room to room clearing procedures with the TRF/Security Forces in Cheyenne, Wyoming. This was one of the first runs these guys did. They were used to doing the same thing over and over again so we changed a couple things up. The shoot house had to ability to re-arrange doors and walls so this was the first time they saw a new setup. Being uncomfortable and learning something new is a good thing. Slow is smooth and smooth is fast. I understand that this looks like a clusterfuck but how about the first time you tried anything new. I'm sure you weren't great at it. We do not fall to the level of our expectations. We fall to the level of our training.

    A simple saying to remind you of CQB and to perfect room clearance.
    "The 4 s's and the A plus the C equals CQB"
    The 4 s's stand for speed, surprise, smoothness and security.
    The A means accuracy and the C means communication.
    These are the basics of CQB.

    @ryanberger871 These guys were so bad because it was only Day 2 of training. I have videos of when they're actually fully trained and running at full speed but unfortunately my computer took a dump with all those vids. I'm going to look around see if I can find some others.

    Three things that could be argued and/or talked about all day long are Polilitics, Religion and Tactics. There is no "One way" to clear a building. As long as what you're doing makes sense, what are your gains and loses, and all of your points are effective and teachable by ALL of your operators. The more that everyone understands what you are trying to achieve, not just going through the motions, the smoother your operations will go.

    Great job. Don't pay any attention to these guys weak criticism. All these comments or "suggestions" are a bunch of hindsight,20/20 arm chair generals. We hear about that phrase all the time in guardmont, and here it is all over channel comments. I'd like to see these clowns go through your course.

    There are almost no games that are close to reality, in reality there is no "you are hit, hide to restore health" things as well as the weapon recoil and all that things you need to think about when in real action. You need to handle stress, equipement, create your setup, memorize tons of things, practise your moves to be quiet.
    If you are asking what games are really good - I remember three great games. Ghost Recon (first one - for nice gameplay with working supressive fire). Rainbow Six Rouge Spear (for scenarios, feel of a team and hard gameplay) and SWAT 3 (for best feel of police unit in action, it's more about saving lives and forcing enemy to surrender instead of just shooting him up). Maybe they are old, but they are really close to reality in their gameplay.
    Cheers and thanks for nice upload, it's nice to see those guys tighting their skills.

    The military often trains with airsoft, as well as paintballs and once in awhile sim rounds. How do I know? Four years Army Infantry (2-162 Inf, 41st Brigade Combat Team). My unit has used air soft a number of times and paintballs once (a few weeks ago actually) since I've been in. It's the only safe way to do real force on force training.

    Other than the guy not being aware the door opened (what looked like; luckily not shot by the killer paint rounds), everything looked good to me. Most important part, to me, was the muzzle awareness, attention to detail and great team work. Nice job gents. ~USMC SSgt

    For everyone who is asking, these guys are using Simunitions with conversion kits on M-4s. And they're only using 9mm Simunitions not the full FX 5.56 metal jackets. If anyone has ever used the 5.56mm then you know that they will literally go through walls because they have so much velocity. Its the USAF so there's alot of safety involved.

  • @aaron4820
    @aaron4820 12 років тому

    I'm fairly sure these aren't simunition, but rather rap4 paintball guns, you can see that the buffer tube is very large on some guns, which is where the 5oz co2 tank goes into, and the shells sound plasticky as they hit the ground, oh and the clear magazine. Also the lack of paint marks can be explained by the use of training rounds, which are basically mini-bouncy balls, probably for ease of cleaning.

      +touggie2000 Yeah, they were super sloppy but you gotta remember that these guys are all pretty much just normal base cops. we go muzzles up instead of "low ready" or "high ready" because you can't flag anyone with your weapon this way and if you happen to stumble and fall you'll fall with the weapon infront of you and you'll be "on-line". If you're running around at low-ready and you fall, you would literally fall on top of your gun.

    If I may, i would sugest you to learn left-hand weapon holding. Right hand holding is not good for front-right corner. When someone clears room I am in, in airsoft, he many times fails because i see his left shoulder before he can aim at me.

    I'm no expert, but I think the guy in front of the door endangered himself. I've heard of too many stories of men breaching, whether Marines, Army, or AFSF, and being mowed down by an AK instantly. It would be a godsend if they had riot shields, though I realize they aren't that simple to carry into a battlefield.

    • @AKBAN1990
      @AKBAN1990 10 років тому

      Ay, FrankDaTank1218 is right.
      COD is terrible "military gameplay" (run and gun), just a terrible choice of game to show military tactics.
      I just started playing Insurgency, bought it today as a matter of fact, and it is beyond excellent. Isn't no ARMA 3, but encourages teamwork to survive, and it has many reality factors that any Xbox "war game" doesn't have.
      I have a military background and to be honest it's truly challenging. And there are military veterans and active duty that play the game.
      Definitely look into Insurgency and ARMA 3

    • @1111Tactical
      @1111Tactical 10 років тому

      AKBAN1990 I prefer Arma 3 over insurgency, but Arma is complicated, has a steep learning curve, and takes awhile to learn. Insurgency is as realistic as a game can get while still being easy to pick up and play. Plus, a satisfying Arma 3 session usually takes about an hour at least. You can enjoy Insurgency for short 10-30 minute bursts since rounds don't last that long and aren't as enormous in scale..

    • @scoby41
      @scoby41 10 років тому

      That's not the biggest issue. Once you gain entry and shots are fired, you need to continue following. They stood there for WAY too long. If anything, the second team should have flowed right through and continued to clear once the initial room was clear. It all takes time and lots of practice. You'll eventually get to the point where you don't have to say anything and everything becomes automatic.

    Most bases that Have an EST or TRF have pretty tough try outs as far as tactics, marksmanship and physical fittness. Keep in mind not all bases have them.

    Hey, where can I get one of those caps with the visor at the back like they're wearing in this video. In the shops I can only find them with the visor at the front.

    How come these guys never shoot lefty when peeking the left side of a wall? Wouldn't that be a more efficient use of cover?

      only when your efficient with shooting on both sides, but we'd rather expose a bit more to get a good shot instead of staying hidden popping off bad shots. being that our job is asset and personnel protection, every shot we take is accounted for.
