      @@AlanWolf-d7l The imagery of birds perching in the branches suggests that the Kingdom, once it grows, will provide shelter, peace, and refuge to many, symbolizing the inclusiveness of God's Kingdom for all people, regardless of background.

    People don't understand. That just having the love of your wife n children. The love of Jesus Christ. Just the bear minimum of providing them with clean water n a loaf of bread to eat .not having a bomb come through your window. That is riches. It comes from within.wanting more of material things on the outside is greed. Not being in a warzone with your family or watching them starve in a third world country you are rich. Don't be greedy that's the devil's word. This guy made me think of this when he said "the small things" talking about discouragement when not seeing the rewards of your hardwork and look what were talking about a mustard and how small it is. Praise the Lord Jesus Christ no other lord no other name. Not Yahweh not Jah not Jehova not any other pernounceiation
    But JESUS CHRIST. Praise the Lord repent n give thanks forever.

    Well, I was really enjoying this until it became self-help around the 26 min mark. In Luke 17, follow the contextual narrative: faith is tangible and real when serving Christ (being a slave unto Christ). In your servitude of the kingdom of God you receive no ‘thanks.’ It’s an expectation of us. Faith is not about glorifying ourselves. Love you, brothers!

      I thought it was an interesting application of being faithful no matter of the results. I agree that we should never expect “reward” or do anything for God “to be blessed,” but this insertion didn’t detract from the parable message to me.

    Yes this fella is a "beautiful talker" but he is also entirely in error here.
    Jesus said in the parable of the Mustard seed that it is "the greatest of herbs", can the greatest of herbs become a tree and still be an herb? What is an herb but a seasoning unto life, but a tree, a mustard tree is obviously no longer an herb, a seasoning unto life. And this tree has branches that the birds rest in, what are these birds resting in this mustard trees branches?
    If you go back to verse four the birds devoured the seed in the parable, and verse nineteen identifies the birds as of the wicked one. So the birds here would have to be of the wicked one here as well, resting in the branches of the Mustard tree.
    In order to understand a parable there are points that must be understood:
    Ezekiel 17:2
    King James Version
    2 Son of man, put forth a riddle, and speak a parable unto the house of Israel;
    *Can a riddle be taken at face value without doing ones self spiritual hurt?
    Proverbs 26:7,9
    King James Version
    7 The legs of the lame are not equal: so is a parable in the mouth of fools.
    *fool here in these verses would be better translated as [thee] self confident, who leans unto his own understanding and is of course a fool.
    9 As a thorn goeth up into the hand of a drunkard, so is a parable in the mouths of fools.

    @15:20 Advancing the Kingdom? Yes but not like he says. The Jews did not understand their scriptures. They were not supposed to understand hence the parables. Matt.13 [10] And the disciples came, and said unto him, Why speakest thou unto them in parables?
    [13] Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand. The reason was His mission which was to give his life a ransom for MANY But when the time came to commission Paul as Apostle to the Gentiles it became for ALL Matt. 20:28 says many 1Tim 2:6 says all. He needed to die to pay for our sin debt.
    Keeping them in ignorance - 1Cor. 2 [7] But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory:
    [8] Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.
    When the ransom was paid for many (prior to Paul) there was a different system of salvation. The parable of the rich guy wanting what to do to gain eternal life had to obey the commandments. Also sell all he had. It was a faith thing. When Christ returns with His kingdom and it is set up in Jerusalem for Him to be King of king, all will be provided. He, the guy and everybody in it will have plenty. Their system was that when Jesus came they had to believe that He was the Christ, the Son of the Living God. Obey the Law and believe on Christ.
    Jesus was right in front of them. The Christ was talking to them. This is a parable right? How much faith does it take to realize the Saviour who is the Rock is right there in front of you. How cleaver our God is to fool the evil princes(devils) to get them to crucify the Lord of glory in the flesh. BTW 1 Cor. 15, Rom. 5&6 reveal how we are saved today and why Christ gave himself a ransom for all.
    1 Tim. 2 [4] God our Savior will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.
    [5] For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;
    [6] Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.
    [7] Whereunto I am ordained a preacher, and an apostle, (I speak the truth in Christ, and lie not;) a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and verity.
    [8] I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.

    Parable of the Mustard Seed
    His view or interpretation is off. There is only one truth; all others are lies. For two can walk together only when their doctrine is in agreement. (Amos 3:3) By using this fake tree to represent the kingdom of heaven, Christ is telling the listener/reader that something is off, not right with this fake tree. Otherwise, He would have used something more majestic to represent His kingdom like a strong, towering cedar of Lebanon. (Ezekiel 7:22-24, 31:1-9) This fake tree which is actually a very large bush tells the end-times story of the great apostasy (2 Thessalonians 1-11, 1 Timothy 4). Many who say "Lord, Lord" who make up this tree, who say they belong to Him, in the kingdom of heaven are fake as well. They are the Bible's wayward accursed children (2 Peter 2:14). These are the 5 foolish virgins, who believed they were going to heaven, even though, they did not belong to the Lord but to Satan. All the parables are harmonious, supporting one to the other. Use this fact to help you, when interpreting the parables. For example, the birds in this parable are the same evil birds who take out what was sown in one's heart--Christ (Parable of the Sower, the Seeds by the Wayside). The evil birds nesting/resting in the tree dovetails in as to who the tree is made up of and to whom it belongs--Satan. The evil birds raise their pagan children in this tree (Hosea 5:7). Thus, this fake tree represents the prophesied great apostasy that is occurring today when tare is supplanting wheat (Matthew 13:24-30, 13:36-43) and has been picking up steam in this last generation (Parable of the Fig Tree) of roughly 70 to 80 years (Psalm 90:10), of which the Catholic Church commits a great quantity of lost souls to this fake tree.
    The smallest of seeds is synonymous to the very small beginning of the mystery of lawlessness, a lie, false doctrine. (2 Thessalonians 2:7) Back in Paul's day when some within the church told church members of Thessalonica, that the rapture had already occurred and that they had missed it and were now in the 7-year tribulation. Of course, this was a lie which is a part of the beginning of the mystery of lawlessness. A small, false seed planted.
    I hope this helps those who still seek the truth.
    I am a watchman on the wall for my Lord Jesus

    Parables are containers of hidden/secret knowledge, keep digging. Curiosity awakes our senses.
